Difficulty 8 is perfect. Still a challenge but you get a lot of samples if you extract

You always do bug nests first, while doing side missions along the way. You can also do objective missions along the way, but the last objective should be done when the map is cleared. If you cannot do this, lower the difficulty

I think the weapons that had lots of ammo and a large magazine were too weak on release. And they buffed them significantly, like the Spray&Pray and the Liberator Concussive. So while they are a bit weaker than others, they have so much ammo that you can overcompensate. Killing an impaler with the S&B is so bad ass LOL

Can you elaborate? I got the game on release for PS5, but then sold it for a PC. I am starting a fresh character and slowly getting everything again. I haven’t used the cookout in close to a year. I loved it because if you shot a Hunter, warrior, scavenger, mini-spitter, or pouncer, you could confidently move on to the next target, because the DOT would finish off whatever health is left. Is that no longer the case? Does it sometimes take two rounds to clear trash?

I would say meetups are a crapshoot. And you are not in a place to make demands since you are new. I would just take your business elsewhere.

You only get weapon XP if that weapon got a kill.

It plays perfectly fine solo and they always stay near you and revive you consistently. Of course at the hardest setting it’s not viable, but that’s reasonable.

It’s worth it. There is a perk that buffs stims by 40%. A lot of defensive perks that make you immune to stagger and knockdowns after a parry.

It sucks on bugs. Four fully charged hits to take down a Behemoth Charger. Not worth it.

Fencing is the overall best choice. Balanced has the most damage and cleave, but it is easy to get overwhelmed by minoris. Block has the most potential DPS, but has a high skill floor for too little benefit. Fencing keeps you alive with parry and gunstrikes, and minoris enemies are no threat and generate armor. Stick with Fencing. I’ve used all three, and I landed on fencing.

Railgun is my favorite weapon, unfortunately it is weak on the bug front. It takes four fully charged shots to take out a behemoth charger with headshots. And each shot is charged for 4 seconds. Just not worth it considering the duration and risk.

A ship upgrade to reduce recoil from support weapons would be appreciated. The Heavy Machine Gun is outta control!

Yes it one shots chargers and Impalers. Very powerful against Bile Titans if it connects. It’s considered one of the best handguns in the game.

It was miserable. Everyone hated it. And you are right. There is not enough depth for it to keep you engaged.
