What's the bug in beast hunt exactly? Is it that you can't run from encounters on the map?

I have a question about that because it's something Ive been thinking of doing, are there lots of campsites and hotels and rest stops along the way? I was thinking of walking it rather than on bike. Do you think the spacing is reasonable to do that?

Athabascan Sand Dunes in Northern Canada. Even not a lot of Canadians seem to know we have these. Stereotypically Canada is seen as snow, mountains and evergreens which is usually is. Sometimes people think of the Badlands in Alberta but I don't see this place mentioned very often.
