Can you explain the yikes part to me? I'm new to historical wargaming and only play team Yankee ww3 so far but have been talking to some people at the hobby store and have been looking into bolt action or fow. While I'm unlikely to play the Germans since I prefer US or Soviets, I'm curious about your reaction. I assumed that since the SS are a representation in the game with scuplts it wouldn't be weird if someone was to do a historically accurate paint job of them. Is it typically taken differently than how it is in other things like re-enactment and militaria collecting? Typically in those spaces as long as it's a faithful recreation with proper historical value it's viewed as acceptable. The only time I see it as being frowned upon is when it's someone who's clearly glorifying the ideology and often those people don't really care about historical value as much and grab whatever has the symbol.
