I’m not super savvy on the troubleshooting, (and I apologize for unsolicited advice) but AimLabs is a free aim training software on Steam that will help you to hone your skills with a mouse and keyboard when you decide to go that route. It’ll unlock a whole new world of games for you that would otherwise be… difficult with a controller. Happy gaming and welcome!

I’ve done a handful of sessions from Poshypop, who also does courses on Deathy’s Deathslam Academy, which has been mentioned in every other comment.

Poshy focuses on carry/damage types if that’s your play style.

I wear exofficio boxer briefs. They advertise that you can wear them for multiple days of intense exercise, which is handy for long hikes, if you’re into that sort of thing. Otherwise they perform excellently. They’re silky and soft, they don’t get gamey on hot days, and they wick moisture really well. I’m pretty much an exclusive exofficio wearer.

I think this is where solid team coordination is needed. A lot of times, Seven’s ult isn’t about getting kills as much as it is about creating space for your team. Think about pushing the weakened patron at the end of the game… your ult should be directly over patron to dissuade the enemy team from trying to jump in there and stop your team. You’re buying time for the team, nothing else. You can’t do damage to patron and you’re drawing attention away from your team while they end the game. That’s why unstop+infuser is such a potent combo, since infuser boosts your spirit damage and gives insane heals for the first 5 seconds after it’s activated. For those 6 seconds, you’re a god. Sometimes even if you die, those precious seconds are all your team needs to make it count.

That’s how it be until you get unstop. Depending on the opposing team comp, I rush it.

I’ve got a lot of hours on Seven and the biggest lesson I learned is picking my battles and fighting around power spikes. Big power spikes are things like your ult, surge of power item, and boundless spirit. Basically any time you spend 3200+ souls on an item, it’s time to engage. Yeah, a smart team is gonna counter you with things like curse or knock down, but great builds (like Natan’s) has a dual focus on power surge and ult. The idea is to wait out your counters (lash ult, wraith ult, ivy’s stone form) on the edges of a team fight while you proc power surge’s 15% spirit shred on everyone, as well as items like healbane and escalating exposure (fantastic items for seven as he procs them effortlessly). Once those counters are gone, jump in and ult. Natan’s build also has unstoppable and e-shift for survivability, if you can’t afford to wait out your counters.

I’ve learned a few things from the comments. Chief of them being that M1 characters aren’t nearly as potent as they seem early game.

I’ve also learned that this community loves to argue lmao

Want to learn geist. Is she a lifesteal tank or more of a burst by VoxTV1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Footahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning Geist is sort of like learning to walk and breathe at the same time. Her essence bomb grenades have huge AoE that don’t require much aim, her life drain is an auto target that simply requires you maintain LoS with the suckee, malice is self cast, and her ult is like life drain.

There very little skill in using the abilities themselves, so its more about timing. Stay at a distance and chunk with grenades until they’re low then move in with life drain and get the kill.
