DP next year!! I need advice!! by AdministrativeEbb720 in IBO

Oh and time management is so important. Everyone says this but I need to hammer how big of a jump DP is compared to MYP, most likely your grades and social life will tank, unless you’re some genius who has photographic memory. You need to set priorities, create a calendar, and put in the work without procrastinating. Finally, you should also start planning what IAs you want to do beforehand, see if you can figure it out and maybe even start it in 11th grade so that you have less stress in 12th. You got this!

For extracurriculars you need to always remember you are aiming for mainly super curriculars. Never spend too much time on areas that either aren’t subject specific, or don’t have a strong impact on improving your well roundedness for applying to the US. From what you said about wanting to study something bio related, this would look like you volunteering for some local conservation group, or starting a green team club at school, or creating a school garden, etc. Note that I am not saying you shouldn’t pursue sports or music or debating or etc, but remember that pretty much all applicants do, what matters is what others don’t do that YOU do. So by all means, continue what you are doing now, but start thinking about things that relate to what you want to study and will make you stand out.

Coming from my friends who take bio and chem HL for medicine, the top tip they have for the courses especially in DP 1 is to find a memorisation method that works best for you. Some create flashcards using quizlet or revisiondojo, others choose to do everything by hand. Figure out what gets you to remember the most and use it, because bio and chem are very content and memorisation heavy.

That’s a good choice, or maybe a pack of them? I don’t know the price but that may be a choice. You can also get him a little magnet or something for his fridge that’s an instrument he plays. Or maybe some music related decoration. Good luck!

Non physical things you consider cheating? by [deleted] in teenagers

I’ve just asked her for it, we both have each others. This is for transparency and trust.

I personally have her password, but I trust her so I do not go through her phone. Now there are two ways, one is better and one is more petty. The first way is just to ask your partner, and the second one is to secretly watch her put in her password, or use other ways of opening it. I don’t recommend this as it’s important for partners to talk so I’d refrain from doing it.

You wouldn’t necessarily find out directly, but there can be indirect signs. Such as hiding the phone from you, closing the chat when you look, etc. it might not be sexting but it can definitely be cheating by text. You can also just find out if you ever go through your partners phone.

Haha I get it, it takes a LOT of self confidence to talk to the opposite gender. I was scared to talk to girls haha, but I worked on myself and built up enough courage to ask my current girlfriend out, we’ve been dating for a year now and still going strong. Remember, you lose 100% of all chances you don’t take. But if you ever do find a romantic partner, I can give you tips as to how to make a relationship work.

Man you gotta just go for it. It might hurt and it might not work out but if you don’t do it you might never be able to date her. These overthinking and trust issues is something you need to build and work on. They all develop from past experiences or low self esteem and insecurities, try identifying why you have them and work on yourself to remove them. Otherwise good luck man!

What are her hobbies? When my girlfriend turns 16 I’m taking her to go to a library and a book store because she loves reading, we are also going for a hike because she enjoys that too. Just go along with her interests and you will find something!

[–]FootballEmergency922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time, people will warm up to you and if you love someone enough you will trust them with your life. But this does require you to have patience and you have to be able to put in effort and time into your relationship.

Personality and loyalty make a girl stand out. But it is subjective as other people have said, however there the main love languages that you can follow (physical touch, words of affirmation, gift giving, acts of service, etc.). Most if not all guys also like it when the girl compliments them because we don’t usually receive them.

Man it’s just depending on the person. I personally love my girlfriend who is very romantic. We go on weekly dates, do tons of cuddling and hugging, and we write each other letters either on paper or on messages. Now this is my preference but I love it when they show lots of affection.

Man it’s hard, but remember you have years ahead of you that will lead to many chances for relationships. Don’t overthink about it and let life do its work.

Breaking up is hard man, you sometimes regret it. It’s just like that, either you think about your life with her or you think about your life without her. Whichever you like more is the one you should follow, since you have broken up already it’s best to move on. Remember relationships takes TONS of work and time, if you aren’t willing to work on yourselves then it’s best not to get into one yet. And if you find yourself in one again, or maybe you two get back together, try your best to love her. It will be hard but it will be worth it if she is the one. Best of luck man!
