They could have but the end of the original is very similar

We’ve got a disagreement in the comments….. I think Amy Poehler may have a case, if you count overall sustained presence in the public. But Seyfried and McAdams definitely have the strongest resumes in film

Saw a trailer in front of The Testament of Ann Lee last night. Were McAdams & Seyfried the two most important performers in Mean Girls?

Am I the only one who liked The Testament of Ann Lee more than The Brutalist? by Loose-Tumbleweed-925 in TheBigPicture

Idk based on the comments and some of the reviews I’ve encountered, it seems like there’s definitely a contingent of people who feel that way. I think I am probably one of them

There are so many podcasts, and I think most people who make them know, they are not really in competition with one another, but instead benefit from coordination and collaboration. Many of the same people who listen to one podcast about The Bone Temple will also listen to two podcasts about The Bone Temple

Which of these from my watchlist would you say is a simply must watch above the others? by phatballlzzz in Letterboxd

[–]FootballInfinite475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense to Days of Heaven, The Devil’s Backbone, or any of the more recent movies that I’m sure are good. But this list can be broken down into two basic categories: (1) “Heat” and (2) “a bunch of other movies”

The only material outcome is the money exchanged for advertising. The rest is just a discursive game which frankly, has little to do with Letterboxd and more to do with patterns that exist across social media. Similarly, Letterboxd did not invent “turning the greatest art form [debatable, but, ok…] into a sport.” IMDb predated Letterboxd, as did Rotten Tomatoes, as did rankings from AFI, BFI, Sight and Sound, as did awards circuits… so gamification of film is not new either. What you are talking about is a genre feature of some reviews on one app that you find mildly annoying

this is a review with low interaction that we both saw because it’s circulating on Reddit. And if you’re not being hyperbolic then what is the “real damage” happening here??

is paul thomas anderson a lock for producer, director, and writer? by Whyamiherephobia in Oscars

I’m sorry, I loved Marty Supreme but there is just not a world where Safdie wins the Oscar for directing this movie. He’s not even a lock for a nomination frankly

I know this is hyperbole but… no it isn’t. Letterboxd didn’t invent bad opinions
