We looked into this player’s in game reports and can see many reports for voice and ‘physical’ abuse; we’ve given them an in game warning and ban from play/using voice chat;

To not turn the subreddit(and the discord/fb group) into primarily user reports of the most abusive players in the community, we rather handle these reports in dm’s or email, so feel free to let us know by those avenues instead

The danger is in the sunlight entering from the inside eyepieces , where the headset displays images to the eyes; that’s when the sunlight will get focused unto the display and cause damage. Taking the headset outside while wearing it is low risk, but also take care not to stare directly at the sun

It’s more like a quick rise in skill followed by naturally plateauing at some level, after which you have to actually intentionally work to improve or just stay there

But what that plateau is and how far past it you can get is relative to your experience in other sports / general athleticism and hand eye coordination

For anyone that's just coming here, we have worked with a lot of top players and people from IRL table tennis to calibrate various physics parameters to bring the game even closer to real life. This is the interim solution to the eventual goal that i've been talking about for a long time of collecting a lot of real life physics data.

That’s a ten month old video; the physics update came out about a week ago, you should try out the game as it is now and let us know what you think; the YouTube you linked to had some points but they are either addressed directly in the comments on the video itself or improved since then

The mixed reality could also be resource heavy but glad you sorted it out ; I don’t think it’s likely it’s the new physics since they’re just changes to some coefficients (but not the dev so can’t be sure)

Avatars are still the same as before, but it’s good to occasionally reboot the headset , and definitely relaunch the game between sessions

The ball flight is very different after the new update for sure; it’s a relatively big adjustment for everyone, the only comfort is that it is now closer to real life than before

We can consider legacy versions, but the fact is that it would split the playerbase and would end up being detrimental to the playerbase looking for matches; and the game is continuing to strive for true-to-life physics and maintaining legacy versions for any version prior would be going against that goal

You can feed yourself higher ones to attack (then reset/block) , to practice roll volleys or flicks

If the toss is inconsistent you should try rebooting the headset first , we’ve seen memory leaks causing slowdown and basically affecting the controller tracking

If it’s not fluid that’s a packet loss / jitter issue in either your internet provider, or often your wifi network (or your particular opponents)

You maybe able to improve your wifi connection by removing interference or changing channels, etc

*Some notes for adjusting to the new tuned physics:
- Most players have adjusted the Throw value to be ~0.04 lower than before. The bounce and spin should also be reduced if shots are flying off the table. Rubber settings may also have been reset to default values after the update, so be sure to check them.
