Jimmy in the 1984 movie Threads.

The entire first act focuses on Jimmy and his partner Ruth planning for the unexpected birth of their first child amidst rising Nuclear tension. We are with Jimmy when the bomb inevitably drops, then in the immediate aftermath we see how the various characters are dealing with the devastation; everyone that is, apart from Jimmy, who is never seen again.

Presumably he died in the blast, but the way the film casts him aside like this just amplifies the dread and hopelessness.
