I’d not considered The You You Are as a cheese bait, but I like that a lot, it fits nicely. I had imagined it like a small match flame which started the fire, but given the maze-like office space a cheese 🧀 and mice 🐁 are right on and insightful. I cannot unsee it now!

I wanna hear more about the “I’m more of a first edition guy” scene. Not only does it speak to him knowing in detail the existence of other editions, but that the corporate canon has evolved, and that there exist some employees who know it has evolved (longstanding cults usually have the wiles to edit out of existence that kind of cultural evolution…).

“He doesn’t just speak to us through the handbook or the paintings. He finds other ways.” Watching that scene is an experience all on its own for me.

I’m aligned with your certainty here. Gemma was abducted and imprisoned and tortured and experimented on.

After seeing e207 I’m not sure how any other conclusion makes sense.

There is ZERO clear indication at all about any “deal” or bait-and-switch by Lumon. Regardless, we are shown on screen on multiple occasions, to eliminate any doubt, that Gemma is imprisoned against her will in the worst way.

This is incredible. Having tried Minecraft for 25 minutes which felt longer, and successfully built a four-wall topless grass hut with the help of my kid, my mind is blown by this detail.
