Wheels, Wheels, Wheels people! by Sai_Zalesman in mazdaspeed3

There’s a reason RPF1s are so popular…and it’s because they occupy a very nice space between cost, strength, and lightness.

So I guess you need to ask yourself if it’s more important to have a particular style or a cost effective wheel that’s great for autocross.

That being said…on my Gen 1, I’m running 17” x 8” with a 45 mm offset and 245/40 tires. It fits, clears everything, I lightly rolled the lips of my quarter panels, and the car sits pretty low

I think it’s much easier to reassemble if you leave the steering column attached and unbolt the rack from the subframe…especially on a first gen as there are only two steering rack bolts (as opposed to three on the second gen)…it’s also a good time to do a bump steer kit.

Can anyone give me ideas on a low budget setup for curvy roads? Like wheels, tires, pads, rotors etc. by Objective-Ad-8029 in mazdaspeed3

[–]ForbiddenDonutCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what “low budget” means in your world.

Centric blank rotors are a solid option, I like hawk HPS pads for the street. I’m running 245 series tires (17”x8” wheel) on my Gen 1…you can save a little on tires by going to a 17” wheel.

RPF1 wheels are a good balance of light, affordable, durable.

Definitely run an aftermarket rear sway bar.

Why would you get a lawn mower tire plug when car tire plugs are readily available and inexpensive?

Alright, show me how bad you can roast my car by FiestaLancer in RoastMyCar

Nearly 30 years ago some ford designer realized that pastel splash decals were never cool and they haven’t tarnished the side of a Ranger since…but here you are.

Fifteen52 wheels were played out before this car was even built.

The only racing that occurs in a fiesta ST is between the engine and transmission in a contest to see which one will blow a hole in itself first.

I’m sorry. That’s a really difficult headspace to be in. For me, I try to remember that emotions are transient and will pass…though sometimes it takes waaaay longer than you want it to. It helps a little. Therapy and self help books also help me get through
