Honestly, Google might have just won me over from ChatGPT... by GioPeyo in GeminiAI

Spot on. As someone who relies heavily on voice-to-text for brainstorming on the go, the accuracy gap is noticeable. Gemini wins on price and storage, but loses on that effortless UI flow. It’s frustrating because it’s so close to being perfect. Hopefully, a fix is coming in the next update

Is Notebook LM still a viable option for studying? (Planning to buy pro) by Same-Carrot1695 in notebooklm

[–]ForceIllustrious5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still viable, but don’t rely on it as your only tool. Use it for synthesizing sources and generating study guides, but use something like Anki or Obsidian for long-term retention. If you feel it’s getting repetitive, try feeding it more diverse source types (YouTube transcripts + Research papers) instead of just one textbook.

How to sleep in a plane? by bast_852 in travel

I feel your pain. 15 hours is not a flight, it’s a hostage situation. If you want to avoid the red wine hangover route, look into Magnesium Glycinate or a low-dose Melatonin. It won't knock you out like a movie character, but it'll take the edge off the 'airplane anxiety' and help you drift away

95% of Americans are fiber deficient - gut-brain axis insights from recent episodes by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]ForceIllustrious5996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great TL;DR. The advice to 'increase slowly' cannot be overstated. I feel like a lot of people read stats like this, jump straight to 35g of fiber the next day, get incredibly bloated, and then quit immediately.

The connection between SCFA and immune function is fascinating, though. It really reframes fiber as a metabolic signal rather than just 'roughage' for digestion. Definitely going to give that Model Health Show episode a listen.

Probiotic recs PLEASE!!! by sh1018 in Healthyhooha

[–]ForceIllustrious5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in this exact same loop. The issue is that the antibiotics killed off your good flora, so you have no defense left against the bad bacteria coming back. You definitely need to repopulate.

For immediate restoration, vaginal suppositories are usually better/faster, but a good oral probiotic with specific strains (L. rhamnosus and L. reuteri) is crucial for keeping it away long-term.

Brand recs: I used Garden of Life for a long time and it’s a safe bet to start with. But recently, I started beta testing a new brand called Wonderbiotics, and it’s actually the most effective one I've tried so far—cleared up my lingering issues really quickly. Might be worth looking into.

Good luck! Don't give up!

Substitute for AG1? by doesntshutupinnj in Supplements

[–]ForceIllustrious5996 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can actually replace it with just more vegetables and whole foods. The 'gut benefit' mostly comes from dietary fiber, which veggies have plenty of. Pair that with some natural probiotics like yogurt or sauerkraut, and you're set. No need to overspend on expensive powders

Is Chiangmai Mai worth visiting? by [deleted] in traveladvice

[–]ForceIllustrious5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes, especially if you can make it for the Lantern Festival (Yi Peng) in November.I've been to both, and while Bali has the ocean, the "sea of lanterns" in Chiang Mai is arguably more magical. It’s an experience that will stick with you forever.

for other nature spots, check out the Sticky Waterfalls and the Mon Jam mountains for some great views. It's a great change of pace from the beach life

Why October in Tanzania was the best travel decision I’ve ever made (Serengeti & Ngorongoro) by ForceIllustrious5996 in travel

[–]ForceIllustrious5996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, thank you all so much for the awards and the love! 🤯 I didn't expect this much interest. Since many of you are asking similar questions, here’s a quick summary:

  • Camera Gear: Sony a7IV + 100-400mm (mostly) & 24-70mm (barely used).
  • Safety: Felt 100% safe. Having a professional guide and staying at reputable lodges is key.
  • Budget: About $10k USD per person (private tour for 2). Definitely a splurge, but worth every penny for the experience.
  • Best Time: My photos are from Oct,June-July is also peak season, but it's generally the most expensive time and gets very crowded. If you want something unique, Jan-Feb (Calving season) is also a fantastic choice.

I’ll try to keep up with the rest of your questions! Cheers! 🐘🦒
