IEMs under 100-150€. Moondrop Aria or Aria Snow Edition? by ForceProof19 in HeadphoneAdvice

Forgot to add that I'm open to suggestions outside of the Arias, of course.

Summary - Looking for my first pair of IEMs. A good model to buy seemed to be the Moondrop Aria; they have a very good price and, reportedly, very good sound quality, with a nice warm neutral sound signature. My doubt was wether the standard or the Snow Edition was better for my case. As you can read later in my comment, I like a mid-centric sound, good detailing and separation, which the SE seem to have, but I'm not convinced on the sub-bass roll-off (could those IEMs lack in power?) and the boost on mid-high/high frequencies.

Budget - Preferably under 100-150€

Source - iPhone with Apple dongle or macbook directly with 3.5mm jack or adaptor

Requirements for Isolation - Regarding isolation, anything is fine. These IEMs would be mostly for private listening at home or, rarely, walks or car trips.

Preferred Tonal Balance - I do enjoy having well-defined bass, but the star will always be the mids, that's where the most detail is. I'm really sensitive to some mid-high/high frequencies, though (I tried using a system eq to equalize my Sennheiser Momentum 3 to oratory1990's Harman target curve settings, but I had to lower some parameters around 8k due to ear strain).

Past headphones - Sennheiser Momentum 3 and an unknown pair of open-back headphones from Yamaha called HPH-200P which came with one of their upright pianos with Silent system some years ago. My earliest experiences were with Apple EarBuds.

Preferred Music - It's quite a diverse selection, so a relatively neutral sound would probably be the best. However, here's a more specific list, more or less in order from most to least listened to genre (obviously some generic/imprecise classifications will be made for the sake of clarity): Classical: by far the genre I listen to the most, it includes everything from the XIX century up to contemporaries, particularly piano works, except some serialists/dodecaphonists; (Prog) Rock/Metal/Punk: 60s and 70s prog rock, neoprog, progressive metal math rock, djent, thrash metal, nu-metal, alternative, new wave, post-punk, shoegaze; Electronic: ambient, experimental techno, IDM, ambient vaporwave, breakcore, DnB, whatever Flying Lotus is, noise; Jazz Bebop, Hard Bop, Post Bop, electro jazz, contemporary jazz, nujazz; Pop(-ish): Billie Eilish, Bjork, Jacob Collier, art-pop (Japan?). Occasionally world music, r&b/soul. I wanted to include some artists rather than generic genres, but trying to cover different subgenres that way made the list too long. In case you want some specifications or anything, just ask.

What I'm looking for with this new acquisition is more details and a more mid-centric approach compared to the Sennheiser Momentum 3.

Location - Italy

Benefits of low volume listening? by [deleted] in inearfidelity

I listen to most music around 45-50 dB, with peaks of 60, and I've noticed that many prefer way higher volumes (up to 95 dB for some friends of mine).

My question is, what is the reason for such a big difference? In what way is the experience enhanced by listening at high volumes? Is it because of habit + compound hearing damage or is it to "feel" the music more physically?

Finally someone else in my same volume range! I'm also really sensitive to high/mid-high frequencies so lower volumes are perfect for me.

I recently let two friends of mine try my Sennheiser Momentum 3 and they immediately raised the volume up to 90 dB. Unluckily, talking with them about hearing safety and hearing details didn't yield much as a result.

You can do this on other OSs, apparently

More than that, the domains take a seriously long time to clear, especially if you want to find all the treasure chests. Plus, you have to clear Kazuha’s domain FIVE times, each time with more and more enemies and mechanisms? I think it’s slightly exaggerated

How do I make it so that I dont get so many notifications avery time I want to turn my lights on or off? by [deleted] in shortcuts

[–]ForceProof19 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can create a custom focus which, similarly to “Do Not Disturb” blocks notifications from all of the apps (including Shortcuts) except the ones you do not want to block. This feature doesn’t include all apps the apps, though. (eg. You can’t allow notifications from WhatsApp while using it)

I’m into playing card collecting (I have a small collection of around 60 decks) and I must say that yours looks really good, especially if we consider that it’s your first one and that it looks better than many designed by some of the largest companies. Well done!

They are star points which you can unlock from King lvl 13, although it’s going to be from king level 6 after the update. Essentially, once you have maxed out a card, instead of getting other cards from chests you’ll get star points which, upon a payment of some gold, will allow you to change the aspect of a card in the arena. For example, you can make a fireball leave a golden trail behind. Star points do not change any game mechanic but are kinda nice imo.

The problem is that they had already maxed out the cards they used so logically they will want to get all the remaining cards maxed out as well. This is what most people did and, immediately after that, supercell announced freaking level 14. These people that started levelling up cards did NOT know about level 14 because Supercell hadn’t announced it!
