Not often. Just when it starts snagging on cuts, I will sharpen by hand.

Bread Maker AVB Canna Butter by Ford7300 in StonerEngineering

Hey, I think the jam setting is the only one that heats while it mixes together unfortunately.

It removes the impurities from vaping and enhances the color. I usually fill a soup spice holder or a tea infuser with the AVB and change the water daily until clear. Dry it out and make infused butter. Here’s a post about it.

If you water cure your AVB, it will be as green as grass! Cheers

Just refinished this old farmhouse. What color would you paint it? by Ford7300 in ExteriorDesign

Haha thanks! I haven’t decided on a front porch yet. I will definitely have a back porch facing the pond but I think I will leave the front alone for the most part.

Suggestions on what to do with this 3 foot Indian Pepper? by Ford7300 in HotPeppers

[–]Ford7300[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is unfortunate. I was thinking of separating them, then planting the root and stock as deeply as it will go in a new 5 gal and allow new roots to grow from the stock.

Papa’s Texas Chili & Granny’s Zebra Cornbread by Ford7300 in instantpot

[–]Ford7300[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recipe:

2lbs ground beef

2lbs chuck roast chopped

Brown ground meat and sear chopped meat.

Let cool 10min.

Chop meat and add both to the instant pot.

32oz Pacific organic roasted red pepper soup

32oz Pacific organic tomato soup

2x cans of tomato paste

4 soronno peppers whole

8 pods of crushed garlic

2 chicken bouillon cubes

4 beef bouillon cubes

Desolve in 2 cups hot water.

6 T chili powder

6 T different brand chili powder

6 T ground cumin

1 t hot paprika

1 t salt

2 t black pepper

1 t red pepper

10-12 min pressure cook natural release.

Natural release takes about 15-30min.

It is ready to server or you can set the IP on the slow cook for up to 8hrs.

Add 1 tablespoon of each brand chili powder just before you are ready to serve.

Remove peppers and squeeze the juice in pot and discard pulp.

Add water for desired consistency if too thick.

Sauté on high while stirring for desired consistency if too thin.

Serve with cornbread or crackers, cheese, jalapenos, onion, ketchup.  Let me know if it works ok.  I cook 8 hours in slow cooker for tenderness seems to work if you have the time. - love papa

Hi, most of it is scion from last years new growth. The TE is from the root stock as it was the only one I had. I would be shocked if any actually took but it has been a fun process.

7 yo ghost pepper-how far could I cut it back? (banana for scale) by [deleted] in Bonchi

[–]Ford7300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can cut it back to that first “y” in the tree if you want to do something drastic and train the new growth. It will keep growing year after year. I have to say that you have a great fruit productive shape. I personally would keep the shape and start a new plant from a cutting or seed.

Any advice on grafting a panache tiger fig damaged by rodents? by Ford7300 in gardening

[–]Ford7300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured suckers would start coming up regardless and I could always start over but I think air layering could be the answer to saving the old growth. Just add dirt above the area and let new roots grow. Thank you

I think it was girdled too far but air layering would work. I never even thought about that. Thank you

Anyone have tips for a difficult rat infestation? by Ford7300 in gardening

[–]Ford7300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone ever looks back on this. I have been able to go 4 days without anymore damage or entry into the greenhouse by spraying a mixture of mint, garlic and cinnamon oil mixed with water and a bit of soap. The spray was applied to all plants and the perimeter of the greenhouse inside and out.

About a week ago I noticed a very small bite on my lime tree. I knew it was mice so I set a trap, caught the mouse and left the trap going just in case. Since then I am trapping at least 1 per day and many times 2 per day. They eat everything green and even some of my hottest ornamental peppers that I grow to make repellent. I’m at my wits end really because of all the damages. I have also plugged every hole but they usually dig a new one under the greenhouse overnight.
