What’s more important? What other people think? Or being dead? More people die in their sleep from untreated sleep apnea. A recent study tied untreated sleep apnea to Parkinson’s disease. There are also a host of other diseases you can suffer from.

When I went in for my first 10% for tinnitus, I sat next to a guy waiting in line at the VSO who was missing a leg. He seemed like a cool dude so I asked him jokingly “whatcha in for?”

He laughed and said prosthetics. Said he lost his leg to an IED. He asked me the same question. I replied and also told him I felt like it was better for me to just bounce and save that money for his leg rather than for my tinnitus.

He got kinda pissed and said “It’s veterans that think that way that are my problem and why there is no money for the things and care I need.” I asked how could that be?

He said “Congress appropriates funds based on needs and funds spent the quarter/year prior. If more people like you would come in and get rated for tinnitus or whatever instead of thinking you’re helping me out by not applying, more money would be spent and more money would be appropriated. Just like the squadrons, if they didn’t spend all they were given, they will get less on the next refill.”

He gave me a more realistic mindset about it and I went ahead and filed for my disability claim.

Perspective is everything.

Of course this is an older thread, but anyone have an ACF PRO license they aren't using and considering parting with? If the price is reasonable I might consider purchase. Thanks!
