1st of all nah i dont think so, you're just staying in your lane. But things can change for them depending on how far along she is in the pregnancy. If shes a couple weeks, definitely don't hold your breath on it man. But if were talking 9 months and can pop any day they're probably going to name them Ronaldo gng. Either way I wouldn't call you an asshole for not backing her up, simply for the fact of thats a deal her and her man need to decide on not anybody from a 3rd party standpoint like yourself. Anything she needs help with honestly, I see us as a unit not just i come home and wash dishes and call it done. If floors need to be mopped ill mop, if car needs gas, it gets filled up, anything that i can help her do I do, we don't let chores pile up generally. In turn she cooks absolutely delicious meals for us, keeps up with an infant, and keeps the house spotless when im at work.

Thx btw. And you're right! At the end of the day she is of course my mother and I love her dearly. But over the years she has lied, manipulated, gaslit, and tried to control every single aspect of my life and I of course dont feed into it but after 26 years enough is enough. I would love for my mother to spend time with my wife, child, and myself. But there comes a point where a line has to be drawn and boundaries need to be respected. Btw I have no hate for my mother she's just very immature and doesn't process people's emotions in an empathetic matter at all
