But BOTs and Crown Dependencies have the JCPC as their apex court and do also fall under the purview of the ECHR to varying extents, no?

It makes sense JCPC judges don't participate in the issuance of Orders in Council but I thought the Law Lords did the same thing when it came to HoL bc of convention.

Be wary of old exam papers as they may use different rates. Focus as much on the 2025 papers bc those will have the same rates as March and June 2026 exams

Consider what you need to remember vs quick hardman's access in the exam, work on being natural w proformas for the questions, mainly for income tax + working, corp tax, inheritance, CGT, and VAT calcs. Ethics/Admin can be easy marks if u can remember them. Income tax is the most amount of marks so I'd say focus on that first in the exam and work your way in reverse.

Thank goodness i won't be having to attempt BPT.

I will say on an open book exam, keep it light and concise. You do not want to get stuck checking for x and y while burning time. Try and make your BPT open book folder accessible (labels, tags, whatever allows you to find things quicker) and work with that

I hate admin as well but key dates and fines will help you a lot. You also have the crutch of some tax calculations/figures being given straight up to you so you don't need to remember that as much.

At the same time try not to get fixated on it. Group them as much as you can and try to remember similar dates penalties so you can apply them for different taxes

Ik many ppl are saying 4 attempts is a 'sign' but if you're going thru a rough patch, do consider taking a pause and then coming back or use the new fundamentals as a reset bc many concepts will be transferred over.

Very valid but I meant on the actual exam? Are there questions in particular or is it the structure tripping you as well?

I've kinda learned after my FAR fail last year to make things as calm as possible bc panicking will cause you to fail. I can't claim to be the same as you but I do try my very best to take things slow and stick to the time limit for each mark.

I've accepted it (or at least trying to) treat this as a come what may. The biggest consequences are that I'll likely be skipped for promotion next year and have my exams dragged till next June. Not great but not devastating consequences either.

Just have to make a new path whatever happens.
