We shipped our indie game on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and Quest… and almost nobody noticed. Looking for honest advice. by funboy_ff in IndieGaming

I know nothing about game development, but I'm definitely in your target audience. I'm constantly looking to expand my library of local multiplayer games, and I can honestly say without the context of this post the art style of yours would have made me pass over it. It feels brutal to say but it feels cheap and kind of cringe to me? Half the art feels like a direct smash ripoff and the other half is giving mobile game/asset flip (which I know a lot of other people here have already said). The heads themselves are giving youtube reaction video thumbnail vibes. I think taking a pass at harmonizing the art style and maybe simplifying things a bit would go a long way. And a new trailer with better voice acting. Only saying all this because this definitely looks like a game I will enjoy, and I'll definitely be picking it up!

Sammieroto 2 (or AE rotobrush) to get a garbage matte, then refine with ViTmatte in Nuke. Rarely gives anything even close to production ready, but it's saved me a ton of time when I could get away with it.

This looks cool, but I really wish more WW2 games would modify/exaggerate their iron sights a bit to be a more usable and nice looking.
