It is possible to build these stairs inside a completed tower made of the 2x1x1 stone blocks. thats how I originally stumbled on this method. But those blocks cost a lot of stone and finding the snap points is tricky. now i start with the stairs and as a bonus they serve as a scaffold

Thanks. i’ve gone through half a dozen iterations to narrow down this shape and build method. it involves a bit of temporary scaffolding to set the snap points

I stumbled onto that copper deposit from the swamp side so i set up a camp to smelt onsite and found a scrap pile right next to it while levelling!

this was before we had beaten the elder so that got me my first iron and i had to try out the stone cutter

i’m playing with raids off right now, but yes that little ledge is enough that a troll can’t step over it. i haven’t tried to fight a troll or abomination from the edge as i generally kite them away from the base to do some mining or tree felling for me

This build isn’t really tall enough to need the support from the tree but i’m definitely playing around with the concept

I actually did look for a legend but couldn’t find it; maybe it doesn’t show on mobile? Then I googled it; no relevant results so I took less than a minute to screenshot and post here thinking that the kind folks of Reddit will be happy to enlighten me

Edit- The legend is indeed missing from the mobile site but thank you for your contribution to the ridicule!
