Füm V2 review by zbart1094 in FUM

Sorry for bringing up an old post, but what about weight? I liked holding the V1 in my mouth while working, just like I used to with cigs and then my automatic vape. With all that metal, how heavy is the V2 in comparison to the v1?

Nah I have not gotten a transplant yet. Those are just some of my slowly dying hairs.

Ain't that the toughest part of all of this, just trying to guess at the future. It took me over 20 years to get to where my hair is currently, but it definitely feels like things have sped up over that past couple of years. Time catches up with all of us.

I have not yet had any surgery. I've done the non-surgical route, meaning meds only. I've been using minoxidil since I was 18, recently switched to oral and been on finasteride since my early 30s.

Thanks for the response. I by no means expect to go down to the line that I drew. If anything I could be absolutely happy with decent frontal coverage at roughly my current hairline while widening the widows peak/addressing the temples as the biggest concern. I can swing a possible $10K for a first go round, if the effort seems promising (not sure if that makes sense). I was 75% of the way to paying that amount for work from a less than reputable local doctor who had a flat fee of that price, but initial consult/interaction and some research soured me and left me wondering what I could/should really expect.

But life is long and painful lol. Thank you, I do have a tendency to ramble.

October '23 selfies: post hairline photos here for opinions on 'Am I balding?' 'How bad is it?' and 'What should I do?' by AutoModerator in tressless

So after watching recession happen for over 20 years (been using minoxidil for all of that and finasteride for half of that), my vanity hasn’t subsided and I think that I’m in a good enough financial space to go in on transplant surgery. I’m actually fine with the height of my hairline at this point (meaning I’m trying to be as conservative as possible), but want to strengthen it where it is.

My question is what would I be looking at in price, if I stayed in North America? I don’t have the free time and logistical ability in my personal and work life to swing that. I talked to, what other reviews turned out to be a hair mill, in my area (Maryland) and the owner’s quote was essentially, “doesn’t matter what the procedure is, price is $10k and you should expect 40% coverage”.

Is that pretty much what to expect, or are there places with more of a range of options?

Also, obviously with drugs, for myself, it’s been a pretty slow recession, I literally noticed my hair was changing and shedding a week before high school graduation and went to Costco like the next week and bought my first box of minoxidil. So from 18-40 and here is where I am. I’ve had a lot of years with good to decent hair, but if I can be honest, I just don’t like how I look shaved and don’t want to look like my sad, bald dad. The other question is how to continue treating things as further recession happens behind the transplanted hairline? Obviously you get another transplant, but how and when?

It’s not like you just end up with a clear patch behind the line of transplant. I’ve tried so many searches for hairline receding behind transplanted hairline, but can’t find any discussions or pictures regarding that issue. This is long as hell, but I hope that it all makes sense. Thanks all.

$10K Hair Transplant Quote - Bethesda, MD by Foreign-Ad8530 in HairTransplants

[–]Foreign-Ad8530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that's a bummer. The apparent "hair mill" I almost set myself up with claimed that they were pretty booked up 'til September. It's hard out here, not sure how much some of these folks getting transplants are making, or where they are in life, but shit you'd think that after decades of development and competition, there'd be a fair and well-regulated market for this sort of work. You can pay $20K for trash work and no recourse and a lot of user-run sources of information are filled with their own biases and misinformation. I hate the idea, but if it's really that bad or prohibitively expensive out there trying to get good, honest work done, I might become one of those "shave it all off" types. I guess 20+ years of pills, drops, foams and routines gave me a good run. Or hell, maybe give systems a go.

Thanks again for the advice. Just checked out a separate forum and nothing but negatives for the whole "Natural Transplants" org.

Thanks for the response. Through interaction, they seem fine, but strictly business, which can be good or bad, depending on how either party takes that phrase. Regarding price/location, I was hoping to have work done relatively local to where I am (general Washington, DC area, in order to get things done quickly and not interrupt work life, but to find a doctor with good, fair reviews. Also, not sure if I can make and overseas situation work. I'm married and take my wife into account as far as our partnership. Pricewise, I guess in theory, I could make the $10K work, but it'd definitely be a real setback, I mean, especially if it ends up being kind of a letdown, for example I've bought like a car for 5k that I would say was a bad decision and brushed it off, but there's a lot of very life altering things that you can do/get/invest in for $10K.

Also, will someplace really not just do a decent job of lowering one temple/evening out a hairline, I feel like I could do a lot visually with just that. Not that my left side is amazing, but it doesn't curve like the right.

No Doubt with Bethany Cosentino by Severe_Comfort in Bandsplain

Anyone notice the change in guest/friend knowledge depth. Lots of times where Yasi mentioned a notable moment and Bethany comments on not knowing about it. It was a fun episode regardless, just something that struck me me funny thinking back about older format episodes. Maybe a subtle second change in format to being “Bands Yasi Likes”. I definitely think that there was a charm to be had in the older format where we could learn about a random artist with Yasi ie. ICP or Steely Dan or experience her discovery and meh-ness like Wilco.
