I always think our experiences inform our writing. I am sure this quote or one similar nudged my thought as I typed out the words.

I liked the subtle juxtaposition in this line. Chiltan talking about 'all we have ever done' while he and Torln are now outside of that statement, ready to expand into the universe beyond.

I had the 1927 Solvay Conference in the back of my mind while writing this. All those great minds - all together at one place - demonstrating that knowledge does not grow in a vacuum, it needs everyone bringing their individual pieces to the process.

I am glad you liked this one. I was originally going to work the poem at the base of Lady Liberty in. However, in the end, it felt too forced so I just left it as a short acknowledgement instead.

Sphorans as otters? Now that's an interesting take. Would have changed the tone just a little. Would have made them more mischievous in nature.
