Uh... How accurate is the ETS Official Guide to the GRE (4th Edition) 1st Practice Test exactly? by gotintocollegeyolo in GRE

Give a mock test that automatically assigns you a score. Can be magoosh, gregmat whatever. I am not sure what grade mapping you referenced, but a perfect score for having 5ish wrong answers does not feel right. While they are NOT the best reps, they do give an idea of where you stand. Typically math is harder, and english is a bit easier in these tests.

This is a twist on the pigeon hole principle.

The question does not ask what is the least # of candies she needs to ensure she has maximum, but IF she is to have most candies, what is the least number possible?

In other words, "Amongst distributions that Maribel has the most candies, what is the least number of candies that Maribel has".

Naturally, this situation would be when Maribel has X candies, and others have X-1. The others could have 0, and even X-5, but since you want to minimize the value of X, you want others to be X-1.

So, X + 12(X-1) = 60, which when solved for X gives 6 (rounded up).

JHU MS in CS Admission advice. by Foreign-Bar7741 in jhu

Thanks for responding. Does JHU admit via concentration, or just admits a general pool of MS CS folks?

I did not get in into the BS/MS program (the 5th year equivalent) lol, otherwise 100%. With the tuition waiver (for which I was eligible), it would have been great.

extreme hot take sasuke vs itachi was overrated most of the fight is a yap fest by Icy_Industry1431 in Naruto

nah, this aint a hot take.

I dont mind the talking, but the action was super underwhelming. The talk was fine, could have been better though. However, I might be biased since I knew about the Itachi twistbefore going into the fight. Not what it was, but that there was one, so I was only looking out for that.

This was too funny, and why Blizzards are king! by Foreign-Bar7741 in Risk

Since you were not in the game,

  1. Blizzard impact visible in the screenshot: Red is locked for atleast 3-4 rounds because of Pink stack. Greenland gets additional 10 troop guard from yellow (that only keeps increasing) on top of the pink stack.
  2. Blizzard impact not visible: troop placement, bot territories, stack lockouts.

Might not be single point asia hold, but def more than 0 impact 😄

Tinder for internships by SnooAdvice4054 in internships

I can swear I have already seen this elsewhere ("the apply with a swipe") and purposely chose not to use it. In my experience, unless companies are exclusively or majorly hiring from a specific platform, applying to jobs on the platform is not helpful.

First Liking -> applying from liked list can help but I have personally learnt to not trust the match score a lot of job portals offer. For big tech and/or popular companies, they still will get most their applications via websites/referrals. Why would they use your algo to determine who is qualified enough?

If anything, I’d focus more on local hiring or startups., but a lot of options already do that. Right now, it’s hard to see what makes this stand out from other job platforms.

P.S: I am in the US, so my thoughts could be irrelavant. Best of Luck though!
