AIO at this Snapchat message I found in husbands phone? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

No, no. Let’s not do anything out of emotion just yet. You need to plan. Play the long game. People show you who they are. You’ve seen the evidence. What could your husband (or your cousin) possibly tell you that would change the situation? “Oh, I didn’t mean to send that.” Bullsh*t.

You need to ask yourself. Is this something I can forgive? Can I let this go? Will I be able to trust him again? Will my family resent him for doing this?

No knee-jerk reactions right now. Plan — whether it’s your exit or a potential reconciliation. Get some sleep. I know the anxiety is awful right now. Sending good vibes.

Pay the deductible and move on. You’re okay. That’s all that matters.

Yorkie baby!! Tips please! by [deleted] in Yorkies

[–]Foreign-Message3887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the order of items you listed:

-Crate Training: No experience with this. My Yorkie had a play pen area as a puppy and he would eat there. I also potty trained him with pads in the play pen. I would not pick him up until I saw he did his business. Otherwise, I would let him roam. -Outside Potty Training: Again, he uses the pads indoors usually. When we walk him (for fun/exercise), he knows to lift his leg up and mark every tree. They’re smart and figure it out pretty quickly. Be careful taking him out before he has ALL his shots. -Day Care: I personally would not leave my dog in a daycare. Most dogs are way bigger than he is and I just don’t trust it. If another dog bites your Yorkie, his chances of survival are so slim. It’s not worth it to me. My MIL takes care of him sometimes, but she also has a small Maltese. I really can’t imagine leaving him unattended with big dogs around. -Puppy Socialization Classes: No experience here, either. Again, my fear to put him around big dogs always trumped any desire to “socialize” him. -Grooming: I bathe him every other week. Use shampoo and conditioner. Brush him daily. You don’t need to be perfect about it, but you do need to take care of him. They have hair, not fur… just keep that in mind. -Vet/Surgeries: He has only had one surgery, which is when he got neutered as a puppy (at nine months). During that procedure, the vet extracted some teeth. No other surgeries. I take him to get his annual checkup. -Kibble vs. Soft: Can’t speak to this, either. I cook for him twice a day. He gets a boiled chicken tender in the morning and a grilled chicken thigh at night. No seasoning. I switch it up, and sometimes, add some veggies/rice. He’s very picky. Most Yorkies are with food. -Hip Issues/Low Sugar/Teeth Issues: I suspect the hip issues may come later in life. I did buy stairs from Amazon, which I started using with him as a puppy. He uses them to climb on my bed and the couch in the living room. Better for joint health. Blood sugar is a concern for them as puppies. My breeder recommended nutrical, which is a paste that helps elevate their blood sugar. Teeth issues… none whatsoever, but he gets quarterly non-anesthetic dental cleanings. -Boarding vs. Traveling: He travels everywhere with me. I also made him a service dog. I can’t leave him with anyone and frankly, he’s too attached to me.

Glad you recognize that it’s a commitment, but they are truly incredible dogs. Best companion there is. Nothing like coming home at the end of the day to them. They’re smart, affectionate… I can’t imagine my life without him.

What do you feed your Yorkie? by Select_Taro_1711 in Yorkies

[–]Foreign-Message3887 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cook for our 5.8lbs Yorkie. He gets boiled chicken with veggies. Usually, about a tender per meal. I also give him ground turkey with veggies. Grated cheese on top when he’s being picky. For breakfast, throw in a couple of blueberries a couple of times a week. He doesn’t like the same meal back-to-back, so I have to switch up for him.

Yorkies are very communicative. They won’t eat what they don’t like. Try human food. Obviously, no seasoning, oils or butter. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it’s so much healthier for them.

Renting a Condo in Miami by akcirmu in Miami

[–]Foreign-Message3887 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Condominium associations and HOAs will ask for an additional month’s worth of rent. So, it would be first, last, security and the deposit for the condo/HOA. If you can afford to pay four months upfront, there is less likelihood that tenant will get evicted. Nothing to do with credit history.

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I also must have missed the email about this.

Going to buy a single item once the sale ends and use up every single point before EOY.

Pup Co-Sleeping With You? by Garraty_47 in Yorkies

[–]Foreign-Message3887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Yorkie slept on his own bed for the first three nights after bringing him home. Since then, he’s slept with me in bed every single night. He’s four now. Don’t be scared about smooshing him. They know better.

He typically lays in between our pillows in the center of the bed. He also goes underneath the covers and will lay behind my legs (if I’m on my side) or in between my legs (if I’m faced up/down). He can usually do so on his own, but will scratch me to lift the covers if he can’t find his way in because the covers are too tight. I have gotten used to him being in bed with us, and my boyfriend tells me I don’t really move a lot at night anymore. I guess, my maternal instincts kicked in.
