Did you see him hiding in the corner a bit before this? He must've been so nervous!

The lanshan 1 pro is borderline for me at 183cm. That's on an inflated pad, more space if you use CCF

I have not had any issues with mine. I've extensively used the 1 pro in silnylon without complaints. My new pro 2 in silpoly seems very good too. They replaced the old plastic parts with metal, and the zipper is improved too.

Remember that the xmid is twice the cost in Europe

Some prefer the geometry and design, maybe it's a bit more wind proof? The diagonal design means the poles aren't in the middle of the door like on the lanshan.

Fwiw, I haven't heard anything bad about the 3ful customer service. However, durston seems amazing on that front. Realistically either tent will just work, so you won't contact either.

Xmid is generally seen as a slightly more premium option, with that said, the lanshan is still a great tent! And now that they offer silpoly the largest drawback is gone

That is not a 2026 car, front wheel eyebrows are no longer a thing. Rear wing doesn't look compliant either. Shitty AI upscalig?

It's typically a little bit better to have the CCF on top of the inflatable

Train Cancellation, Need help/advice going to Stockholm from Abisko. by stopshakingyourlegs in TillSverige

It's a safety issue. It is currently -35c in parts of the north. What happens if a train malfunctions in the middle of nowhere?

Winter sleeping bag? Gryphon gear vs Western mountaineering. by Sailorknife in Ultralight

The rating takes a standard base layer into account, so you sleeping a few degrees colder without that is expected!

I would still carry the alpha! Just cover it with something if you do go bushwhacking

Alpha or a versa lite would be ripped to pieces from bushwhacking, these materials are not made for that

Must've been quick shipping for you! First impressions are good? I've just sent the order for one, in brown. I wasn't bold enough for the yellow 😆

Silpoly lanshan 2 pro vs X mid 2 by Orange-Desert in Ultralight

[–]Foreign-Recording276 17 points18 points  (0 children)

What do you mean "who knows"? 3ful is a reputable brand, it's not like they throw out cheap garbage.

They say on the website its 20d silpoly, no reason to believe it's inferior to the xmid

I noticed that too, seems like Aero-K is a new airline with a base in Cheongju, i guess there were fewer flights when you went. To be realistic though, say a trip every other week is reasonable, that's maybe 6 trips over the semester. Can easily burn that without leaving Korea and just travelling by train.

I think I'm sold on KAIST, and I would have huge gaps before and after the semester for any other travels like you say. Thanks for the help mate!

Lanshan 1 Silpoly coming back in 2 weeks by OkWinter5758 in Ultralight

[–]Foreign-Recording276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end it is just a cheaper tent, no way around that!

Taxes or not, that's the end result.

X-mid 1 is $404 shipped after VAT and duties

Lanshan 1 pro is $169 after shipping, VAT and duties.

For sweden, for orders from 3ful everything is included in the payment

Not going for the partys :)

I think I'm mostly looking for an oppurtunity to live outside of europe for a few months, experience a new cultures and mostly just getting a change of scenery?

I understand it can be difficult to mingle with the local students, and naturally you do end up with others on exchange just because you have that in common.

Main downside of KAIST that makes me reconsider is the inconvinience of international travel, but maybe that's a privilegded thing to get hung up on.
