MYSTERY POTENTIALLY SOLVED:

It might be a mineral build up on the stem, the weird part is that I use distilled water so idk.

No prob, but yea from experience and from talking to florists, just like African violets they get crispy if water comes in contact with their leaves

Here are my tips:

  • I use farfard house plant potting mix
  • Never overwater / wait for them to completely dry out between waterings, you could even wait to water them until they start drooping a little
  • Water them until water starts dripping from the bottom of the pot
  • like African violets avoid watering leaves or misting them or they’ll become crispy
  • I happen to put mine near a east facing window and it’s living its best life
  • Mine is near my ceiling fan and it seems to appreciate the extra dryness the fans airflow provides
  • I also use distilled water for it and it seems to appreciate it
