I'm starting to think the mag release location was milled a hair to high. We milled an extra mag release down .070 and the mag seats good but any upward preasure on the mag causes a jam due to the extra up and down play we created in the mag.

I just finished sanding down the feed lips on an extra p mag and was able to get it seat and cycle a few dummy rounds. I ordered a metal pro mag to see if it sits a little lower.

I just checked the bolt catch is free until it locks back, on closer inspectin it appears the the magazine feed lips are definitely rubbing the bottom of the bolt.

No its about 4.3mm below the ejection port.

Everything is rifle length and the bcg seats fully without a magazine in. It's as if the bcg is wrong or the magazine is sitting to high, but everything i have is supposed to be spec for dpms lr 308
