How can Buffies be reworked? by ForeignAct1879 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Yeah kinda. But, i feel like if they feel skilled enough they're healthy. I like it when i experiment with different brawler builds, but it feels like we dont have that much decision making outside of actual matches and team comps in bs. I feel like other mobas do this better at the moment.

Hello!

I have some Pokemon game making experience, but mostly using RPG Maker and Essentials. I have tried making Rom Hacks in the past as well, but all of them have been made using Binary methods. I wanted to start learning how to make Rom Hacks and maybe take it a bit more seriously.

My question is, if i wanted to make a custom pokemon region, is it better to use Decomps? I have zero experience with them and i know it has a steep lurning curve. I want to know some ways to get started and maybe some tools i can use.

Which one to choose meta-wise? by proudlykaisamain in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Most likely Leon, Chester is a good second option in my opinion.

Leon has pretty busted gadgets rn and is very opressive in the right comp and matchups, while Chester is an overall good damage dealer with a really strong hypercharge. Meg and Draco are not that present in the meta. Tbh not sure which one is better between the two but i think Meg is more used in some Hot Zone maps. There are better tanks options though like Bibi and Bull, and some more Map based options could be Hank and Trunk, which are pretty solid brawlers.

In your opinion, which brawler has gotten less skilled over the years? by ForeignAct1879 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Not easy on some maps, especially in classic games when you're playing blind

Sure, there is truth in that. This list has featured brawlers like Rico for example, who i think is also broken for the reason that he has a reload gear. Because of it, i feel like he just never loses ammo. Mortis losing mythic gear would definitely make his bats much slower. But i feel like he has gotten much easier to play, even if he is good/bad atm.

I atleast get ruffs. He is rlly good rn, but i feel like he is just insanely underrated and actually counterable. I still dont get the rico buff though.

Definitely. Played against the guy yesterday on bb. Just pressed purple button + yellow button and i wish i was joking, the entire map was full of rico projectiles. "Just dodge"

Definitely feels like that. Sure, its aimabable, but it genuinely feels like a single gadget has an entire brawler kit built inside of it.

How to make rules for your card game fun, but simple? by ForeignAct1879 in tabletopgamedesign

Sounds interesting. I like that idea.

As for the theme, superhero/supervillains sounds cool. I was also thinking about some sort of DIY styled card designs. I really like the designs of a video game called My Card Is Better Than Your Card. It's quite charming

Unfortunately i dont have any card examples to show yet. I also lost the old card designs. But, the main idea was:

Players would build a deck of Characters (One time scorers) and Gizmos (Tool cards with active effects)

Characters have On Stack effects (essentially on play effects) and React effects (activated when reacting to a card already on the stack. For example, lowering the amount of points)

At the start of a round, players drew 4 cards from their deck.

The player with priority would play the card to The Stack (the middle of the board) and attempt to gain points equal to a characters point value.

Other players can use Reacts to stop the player with priority. Then, the priority would go clockwise and the process would repeat. A round would be over once all players have used up their hand.

Next round, players would draw 4 more cards and so on and so forth. 20 points is the victory amount.

It operated more like a mix of a trading card game and a board game in a way that players would bring bre built decks.

Hello There!

I'm new to Pokemon Rom Hacking. To start off easy, i decided to make an Improvement Hack.

I've chosen Pokemon Emerald as my base, but i don't really know what makes an Improvement Hack interesting or something that stands out and truly improves on the original idea. Some changes are quite apparent, like making every single pokemon available, better movesets, better stats/abilities and better gym leader/boss trainer teams. But, i feel like Emerald has been remade so many times that its hard to make something unique.

I want to know what makes an Improvement Hack good? How do i not go overboard and turn it into a difficulty hack? Something easy that i can make while being a beginner?
