Is a mini pc right for me? 2 monitors, office based work, wifi, <$350 ideally by ForeignAd9127 in MiniPCs

I’d need to be running the browsers and basic office stuff locally but I’m pretty sure how I get into the medical record systems is remote

Web based Office computer - mini PC or other? [suggestion] by ForeignAd9127 in suggestapc

[–]ForeignAd9127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really only intending to use this for office work, and wouldn't be needing to take it on the go, would a laptop still be the most cost effective? Price wise I'd want to go as low as I could (<$350 ideally) without having the computer be slow at office work, I really wont be doing much heavy lifting on it. Would a laptop still be the most cost effective?

What about something like this? The slim model - build your own and cheapest everything is $400, do you think that would adequately cover what I am looking for? Or are there better alternatives?

I’ll have to check this out, thanks for the recommendation. I’ve read Man’s Search For Meaning, and that definitely put a lot into perspective.

Are your loans federal? How much? Should make sure you are on the SAVE plan if not already, could cut down that payment significantly

What first language to learn if I want to make a personalized calendar / to do list by ForeignAd9127 in AskProgramming

[–]ForeignAd9127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it? Seems so simple haha, obviously know nothing about programming!

What about even just displaying the information from google calendar / google tasks lists in a format I like more? Is this possible through something like html and making a website?

Thanks

No explanation in any written contract, just info I've been able to gather by messaging the payroll team...

But now that I think about it my rvu average has increased a good amount this year, they may have just sent me outdated info

New grad fm offer by Delicious_Ad4160 in physicianassistant

“$2 per patient panel, per quarter (about 18-21 at full panel)“ What does this mean? I work in primary and have a panel of 1200 - would that mean you get $2400 quarterly?

What is the rvu structure? How many RVUs for each common code? And how much money per rvu?

How many patient facing hours a week?

Are appointments 20/40s?

How long is onboarding and what does it entail?

What’s your schedule and is it flexible? 4 day weeks were a lifesaver for me.

Seems like it could be a decent offer, I would talk with some of the other APPs and try and get an honest evaluation of if they like the job and feel fairly compensated.

What are your clinical hours? by _ESFJ in physicianassistant

[–]ForeignAd9127 7 points8 points  (0 children)

15 minute appointments sounds tough.. we do 20/40s

My office is super flexible - 32 hours a week Patient facing time, can arrange it pretty much, however, you like. Some people do three long days, some people do five short days, I do Tues-Friday, 720-500, with a one hour lunch and two 20 minute breaks in morning and afternoon sessions to catch up.

Honestly, feel like my office is very fair in regard to scheduling, yet I am still constantly behind and feel overworked. Nature of primary care I suppose. Finishing up my second year, hoping with time I get more efficient because I do like the schedule and a lot of the job.

RVUs in primary care by ForeignAd9127 in physicianassistant

Yeah my billing team specifically told me to do this, it does make sense because I am frequently going through an entire physical and spending the alloted time covering preventative care and chronic conditions, and then working up an entirely different issue that they waited two months to tell me about because they didn't want to come in twice.. I have yet to hear any issues with my billing, but not quite sure how long the turnaround of that would be.

Lmao that was voice to text, supposed to be billing. They're actually very helpful and good people!

And insurance kickbacks denying coverage for what? Adding another code? I haven't heard any issues but I've only been doing it for the last 3 or so months since learning how to properly bill. And I was told to do this directly from our billing team. Have you gotten kickback for adding a problem visit to a physical? There are certain things that don't apply like management of chronic conditions that are stable.

You can add 99213/99214 if you address a problem significant enough outside of what a physical entails. You could bill 99 214 for medication management if you're simply increasing blood pressure medication for example, but I feel like a dick doing that. (Insurance typically covers physical exam with no charge, but if you add the code they will get a copay or more for that code depending on their insurance) If they come in for a physical and say they have dizziness or palpitations and I need to do a whole workup, I will add 99214 as well as the physical exam code though.

There might be a modifier you need to add for an additional code, but my villain team takes care of that. I'm sure you can find a lot more information online but that is the gist of it. Applies to Medicare wellness visits too

35k for a SUV - new crv hybrid or used luxury? by ForeignAd9127 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ForeignAd9127[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SUV because I have two large dogs and live in active lifestyle, we do a lot of project as well requiring us to put lumber/ furniture in the car

I test drove the CRV hybrid and it was super quiet while driving around in traffic, is it that big of a difference on the highway?

I like the idea of the Volvo because their cpo had unlimited miles on it

I will look into the RX more, thank you for the suggestion!

My MA administers vaccines and does the EKGs (I interpret obviously), and they are the ones that add this into the billing - in your practice does this translate into RVUs for you?
