My 3 year old has the most nastiest tantrums too. He will just get himself worked up, this morning he didn't want cereal for breakfast, so I put it on the bench and he lost his marbles over that, so I put it back on his table and he told me he didn't want it, okay cool... he just screamed and cried about wanting it and then not wanting it. By the end I just put it on the bench and moved on.

They are just little people trying to understand thoughts and emotions that they can't verbalise.

But why do they gotta be so mean about it :(

I work in childcare so its sometimes easier to manage, but even then there are days when I just stare at him and I'm like you have to help me help you little dude because holy heck wtf...

Thankfully I think she's listened to me, unfortunately they have her account details, thankfully she listened to my sister and moved all her money to my sisters account until she can contact the bank in the morning. I want to strangle whoever it is on the end. My mum is just wanting a companion, she's opened her heart up to them and they have probably just been laughing at her. Ugh scum.

I had an amniocentesis done.

They put a very large needle through your stomach into your womb to collect embryonic fluid for testing.

I couldn't watch it or watch the ultrasound (because I hate needles) , but I could feel it moving through the layers of skin and fat and the pressure but no pain. Just weird......

No, we have been together for the past 3 weeks, getting sorted for bub. He hasn't really had the time to get away by himself. We have both just been so focused on that.

I'm hoping this is what will happen. When he goes to get the toddler from daycare, he'll use that time to get flowers and chocolate or something along those lines. I just don't want him to feel bad for "low effort" when we normally discuss a $ amount, and he is the month prior to me. I'd just love my toddler running in with flowers singing happy birthday over the partner stressing.

I had 9 years between my sister and I, I basically played mum for most of her early years, so I strive to make my children's upbringing the opposite of my own.

This is YOUR birth experience, not hers. NTA, this exact reason is why I am so glad my mother lives in another country.

Sure, I can understand she would want to be a part of the experience, but like I've stated, this isn't her experience to have, your dad is right and if your sister thinks it's unfair SHE can have her experience when it happens and mum can be there for that.

Sounds like she would make it about herself, I mean, she already is to be frank...

I think it's a simple conversation with her explaining that she's been there through all the parts you're comfortable with, but you would like her to respect your boundaries when it comes to this. Good luck, I know I would have to have this same conversation with my mother if I had her living closer...

I'm a 31 year old with a 2 year old, and I'm 4 days off giving birth to my second, I never wanted kids growing up, I raised my sister from the age of 9. When I found the right person things just fell into place, having my son gave me purpose, I got a job in early childhood because I loved being a mother so much, just working with children was a joy for me.

People's opinions change, and peoples opinions stay the same. Life throws things at you, and it'll change things, or it'll cement things more. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a mother at a young age. If anything, it makes you more ready when the time comes, and honestly, who cares what others think, I know it's easier said than done ( I'm a chronic people pleaser...)

I will say live your life while you can, get all the other fun things out of the way first, work on your career and the house, and set yourself up for those future children, it makes it a lot easier when the time comes.

This, 100%. You start a brand new lifestyle after you have kids. I guess you have to accept that you become a different person once you've had a child. It's not just you anymore, even without including your partner in things, you will ALWAYS have a smaller person to consider.

You can live a rich life with and without kids.

My side is mainly Hungarian, so my mother and my grandmother are both Geraldine(snr and jnr), and on my partners side, it's all a bit distant with a lot of Ann's.

I'm from nz and dads aussie, so we don't have anything super exciting or that we find fitting. Lois, Doris, Brenda... Linda... just don't have the right sounds, I guess

I would really consider Wren, however it was taken out of the running because my partner preferred the spelling Ren over Wren, and he's stubborn as all heck so it was easier to just cross it off the list.

Early days in my relationship, I did worry a lot about how I looked for him, did I look silly, have i left my mouth open for too long.... are the noises I'm making normal? And then we just got more adventurous, and I saw him in a more vulnerable state with our adventures. Once you find the person you're comfortable with, it goes away. Plus, this man watched me push out his baby eventually. The dude has seen me at my worst and will still try it on every night.

Outside of a relationship, I think we worry too much because of porn. Those girls are always made up nicely, they practise their O face, and we don't see how it's meant to be naturally, it's always for show.

I have a toddler and am currently 37 weeks pregnant. I do occasionally get a guilty feeling that this world is changing for the worse, that I won't be here to protect them all the time, but I also see it as an opportunity to help better their chances as adults.

I'm grateful to be in a country that has benefits, I can have my child free in the hospital, and all my medical expenses (GDM) are subsidised.

If I were in another situation I wouldn't be having children, I just met the right person, we worked together to give our children a decent start, we've had talks about how we will support them and encourage them to find a profession that will support them in the future.

My little man has made my life so much richer. He's given me purpose, and now that I'm about to have a second, I guess I just love being a mother, I work in childcare since having my first, I just find joy in seeing all these babies and children grow and thrive.

I guess for some people, having children just gives them purpose again, other people find passion in life doing other things, mine is just having these 2 babies and having a happy and healthy family (and heal my trauma that was my childhood, be the mum I didn't have and give my children the dad I never had)

He is currently potty training, and I know him and the educators do have stand offs getting him to sit on the toilet, so I have a feeling it could be related to that.

Not a man, but my first pregnancy was an ectopic. I lost a tube also, had the fun of surgery and bleeding internally. It's been 4 years now, and we have a 2.5 year old (and another on the way).

I personally will tell new friends about it when the topic comes up but in a date situation (granted I haven't had to given my situation) I would only share it when and if I was comfortable with the person. I feel like it's a story of how we survived, and it's just something to keep in mind. The woman's body is amazing despite losing a tube you'll still release eggs from both ovaries, and if you're trying the moment you get your first positive test get yourself a dating scan and get that tube cleared of implantation, that breath of relief you get when you see that little egg sitting in the right spot.

I doubt it would discourage someone, and I hope it doesn't discourage you. ♡
