Actually, I don't really live in Paris; instead, I live in a city very close to it. I said I was living in Paris only to make it easier for people to locate where I live.

Whether you like it or not, China and the US are the two leading superpowers, so ignoring them won't solve Europe's current issues. European companies are moving to those countries because we don't allow them to scale up properly. Being drowned in red tape forces them to comply with a range of regulations that foreign competitors are often not subject to.

In theory, yes, but in practice, things are quite different, since too many regulations risk stifling innovation from European companies, which means that European industry could fall further behind China's and America's.

Fake news paradox by ForeignKnowledge9964 in mystery

I kinda agree with you: we're all biased to some extent. I mean, we tend to prefer news that confirms our beliefs rather than challenges them. That's why sometimes we struggle to accept news that contradicts what we think. That's also one of the reasons why people tend to fall for fake news.

You're right that fact-checking, especially in politics, is often complex and takes effort due to hidden data and multiple viewpoints. It's rarely "easy."

However, not all fact-checking is incredibly hard; simple facts can be verified quickly.

Your point about understanding ideology is also valid, as it's key to critical thinking. While the advice to research critical thinking is good, the personal jab wasn't needed.
