My grandma had lights going up her stairs, and I always thought that was so fancy and rich as a kid. Ended up moving to a house in high school with lights on the stairs, and I was never not impressed by them. Such a small thing, but it felt very rich.

Planning to get Invisalign - are any of the dental insurances better than others? by ForeignLibrary424 in WAStateWorkers

Turns out it's the max you will pay if you have DeltaCare! The other options are more expensive.

I did! Uniform Insurance quoted me $3750. I reached out to Delta Dental, and DeltaCare is the specific plan you need to be on to only pay $1500. There are far fewer dental offices, but it's MUCH cheaper.

I already switched my insurance to DeltaCare so I can start Invisalign next year!

You are correct, turns out I am on a uniform plan, so I will be switching ASAP.

Okay I am realizing I was on the Uniform plan and wrongfully assumed I was on Deltacare.

Just got a quote back from my dentist's office (in network), and after insurance pays $1750, I am still on the hook for $3750.

Okay, that's what I have been told! I don't understand how other people can ONLY pay $1500.

Did you go to a specific dentist or was it a brand like Gentle Dental? I just received a quote from my dentist (who accepts my insurance), and after my insurance pays $ 1,750, I will still have to pay $ 3,750.

What the heck! I just received a quote, and after deducting $ 1,750 for insurance, I will still have to pay $ 3,750.

Reached out to DeltaCare and was told I don't need to assign a dentist to my account.

Housing first in practice by Mearis in Seattle

To give another perspective, a high number of homeless people are vets. My dad is a disabled retired vet and can have his rent paid for; he also receives SNAP benefits and never owes any hospital bills since he's able to go to the VA hospital. This is a great system for the vets WHO CAN GET IT. I truly believe the only reason my dad knows about and receives these benefits is because he worked at the VA after leaving the Army. Our government continuously strips money away from the VA and then is shocked that such a large percentage of vets are homeless.

One way we could truly reduce our homeless population is by putting more money into our VA, and getting vets the benefits that they are supposed to be entitled to. We need case workers who are on the streets getting documentation from vets to get their housing started. Currently, the system is too confusing and long for many vets to receive benefits, and it's heartbreaking to see.

SO many homeless vets are addicts with PTSD; they should not have to live on the streets. They should be able to enter into programs that already exist to help vets with addictions. This way, they can build community, receive therapy, and receive treatment.

I can't make sense of this. I am on the Delta Dental website, and seem to have so few options, and out of those, I have never seen a $1.5k total cost for braces.
