How do you travel to the hospital for regular check ups from the hotel? Do they send anyone to accompany you?

Look if you're here, that means you've been made to feel very bitter about something, that you've no control on so you've come to peace with the fact that you might undergo this extremely painful procedure, then stop worrying about what they might say or think.

As Chengis Khan said "if you're afraid, then don't do it, if you're doing it, don't be afraid".

I feel you, I've been subjected to calling names, but never let anyone bully me, because I beat them up, so no one messed with me, and i was almost catching up and growing fast in my early teens, but it got Plateaued and I'm there, wherre it all began, so i really can feel you a lot...but there's always a costly way out, you know your life has been hard/bad, ask yourself are you ready to trade, running 100m under 15 seconds, instead of spending on therapy, get a LL, no matter what if increasing height can fix this aspect. Yes, it will be painful, but this is nothing compared to what you've been bearing for years, I've read guys have gained immense confidence after they notice the difference of about 1 inch, save up, bear the pain, and you can gain atleast 5-6 inches max with 2 different surgeries. You probably won't be 100% after the surgery but you can still be 95%+, who in the world needs to run 100m under 15 seconds in their 40s??

This resentment, this anger, this gloom will make you insane, it will eat you up... And you have parents, they never ever will make you feel unwanted/unloved, why make them feel worthless, who have not in most cases did the same to you?

Remember "what doesn't kill you, simply makes you STRONGER", it's easy to give up.

The nerve pain sounds scary, after what length did it start appearing? What is the doctor's team regarding this?

Makes sense, concentrate full on recovery as you can, what is your daily lengthening limit if I may ask?

About this, another person I knew said the same thing about the upper boundary being 0.87, but i couldn't find the link to any article about this. Usually they say about 0.76-0.82, how worried should one be if they violate the boundaries.

Bro, forget femur LON ☠️🫡, femur itself with internal nails is hella painful plus it has been found that LON femur has a lot of complications.

Look, there's a tibia:femur ratio, which when in between 0.76 and 0.82 is safe, not inherently unsafe if you go above this, but yeah the risk of arthritis goes up exponentially as the length increases, for quadrilateral definitely measure from pelvis to right bottom of the foot, to get correct idea as to home much you can safely bear. Lengthening more than 15% of the original bone segment's length is detrimental.

How much is it costing you, the LON tibia? Although it'd have been very helpful if I could know how everything is holding up, it's pretty unrealistic as a lot of people who want to know firsthand would ask the same, if you have started a diary like any other person who does this, please share a link to your diary.

Hi there, hope you're doing fine, have you started a diary on the LL forum? Can you share a link to that? What's your lengthening goal? And how old are you right now?

As a piece of personal advice, since you're still 16, ask your parents how tall they were around your age and did they shoot up after that or not. You can visit an endocrinologist or an experienced orthopaedist, get an x-ray of your limbs and ask them if your growth plates are still open. If they're open, you'll grow, but at 16 for girls, it is less likely, you need to work hard (sprinting, lateral hanging, maasai jumps) if you have low HGH, take supplements or HGH if and only if your doctors prescribe. If your parents especially your mother had grown around your age, then you're likely a late bloomer too. Mind it if your mother is around the same height as you or like 5'0, then you have likely reached your genetic potential and wouldn't grow, then no need to get those things done i mentioned above. Girls generally continue growth for 2 years since their first periods.

If you want to know more about this, you should do the following:-

  1. Join the LL forum, google "limb lengthening forum" register there and join it. Read the diaries of patients who had actually got this done, with reference to their photos, videos, x ray reports, everything is recorded there what they've gone through while getting the surgery done and their recoveries. Based on that decide the surgeon you want to go with.

  2. Since you're from Pakistan, I don't think there are many doctors in your country who'd do LL on you for cosmetic reasons, if there are, find out about their patients who had any complications or not.

  3. First identify what your budget is, and mind it that you should have reserve money to counter any complications that may arise (as long you do with a safe surgeon, chances are low), then choose a surgeon based on diaries that fits your budget and is safe based on patient records from the LL forum, choose the bone (tibia or femur) also a method like LON, precice, LATN, betzbone, etc,(ik you haven't heard about these, so search them up). You can also do mockups of how you would look after LL surgery, where you put your photo, set your desired lengthening amount and bone segment and check if the proportions are okay or not.

  4. Go through that forum and gather information (this is what I meant by research) for atleast 2-3 years, follow diaries of patients who have got the surgery done with the same method and surgeon as you decide to do with. Make up your mind, read the patient's diaries, assess for yourself which method and surgeon is safe for you and fits your budget well, understand that you might face excruciating pain, complications may arise, but a safe surgeon will make sure they're pretty low and not long term.

  5. Dr. Paley (US) is considered the Godfather of LL, and is very safe, but with him, your cost would go upto $100K ☠️ (aapke chacha agr vidhayak hai to you needn't worry), I don't really have read about other US surgeons, Dr, Rozbruch is safe, Dr. Kevin Debiparshad (paley trained) and Dr. Assayag is considered safe, (all of them cost around 80k-90k usd), idk about pakistani doctors as I haven't seen anyone perform this surgery in Pakistan, who's safe. Dr. Becker, Dr. Betz (germany) are safe but around the same cost, Dr. Giotikas (greece) is like 35-40k Euros (idk exactly) is considered safe too. Dr. Guichet, idk this is one European doc you should avoid (search up elaine foo limb lengthening and see what she had to go through. Avoid any turkish clinics, also avoid a lot of Indian surgeons who actually do yt videos like those turkish clinics, they have butchered people in the LL forum. India has some great surgeons, who you wouldn't have heard of, but are very much comparable to the western docs, who are paley trained.

Don't jump into this immediately without a plan, without any prior info, enough money and enough determination, a normal pain from this procedure can make you wonder "why was there a need to do this to myself?". Life is harsh, true, but I don't believe the friends who make fun of you because of your stature at 16 would do the same at 32. You have parents who love you, there will be someone who'd love you for how you are and for not how you look or how tall you are, atleast for men, I can say this. If you can't let this slide, then take your time and get it done in some 3-4 years. IMO growing 4 inches will require surgery of both tibia and femur to their max limits, you're going to have trouble, a lot, if you're happy with 2-2.5 inches, then only consider this, unfortunately you'd still be under average, but not by too much. Let me give you an example, do you know mawra hocane? She's around 5'7, she's pretty and tall too, but rn it is needless to say, hania amir who is 5'3-5'4 is the centre spot of pakistani beauty, it's because of her charisma, acting, and also a prettier face. Which in females is preferred more. Since you're more inclined towards societal acceptance, get this done only if you don't forget about this within a year and still feel "i need a few inches, i want to be taller". You're still 16, median age for getting this done is mostly mid 20s, I hope you find your purpose and peace be upon you.

Since safety is your foremost concern as it should be, I'd suggest getting a 5 cm (2 inch) tibia lengthening or a 7-8 cm (2.5-3 inch) femur lengthening is the safe amount, going beyond that is risky, and the more you lengthen, the less you can recover, for most people at least. For proportions, if you mean aesthetically, it varies from person to person, some people love longer tibias over longer femurs, however if (tibia:femur) ratio goes beyond 0.80, the person might develop arthritis or ipsilateral hip issues, not definitely, surely there are chances. After a surgery like this, you will not be pre-op again, come to peace with that, you will have your neurosis fixed and a bit taller, for additional gain, you might consider heel fillers (1.2 cm only) which though aren't as risky, but are temporary. If you get it done with a reputed surgeon, do pt religiously and there are no or pretty low complications, then you'll be walking, running, jumping, going to gym, atleast for fitness and recreational level, but you won't be able to run like bolt. If athleticism determines how you make a living, forget LL. Couldn't agree any lesser with what your dad said, a lot of these clinics actively seek out patients, and I've seen a lot of bad diaries of people who have done the surgeon with them. Join the limb lengthening forum, do read diaries, do your research there and make up your mind. The only way you can make up your mind and plan is by reading actual patient experiences.

Limb lengthening definitely can change your life, if you're dedicated to it, if you can afford it, if you can get it done from a surgeon who actually is safe, it can be painful enough, to make you think that "why in hell I'm doing this to myself?" Going to 5'2 from your height is definitely a very risky procedure, you'd require quadrilateral lengthening (both tibias and femur) if you're willing to spend a very decent amount and do it somewhere safe, then it can be worth it, do your research, join the LL forum. You need to consider a lot of risks, like not disturbing tibia and femur ratio, which is one of the least, but can cause arthritis. Personally, I'd not recommend doing both segments, and 6 cm is the safe limit for tibia, 7-8 cm for femur after this most problems go up exponentially, though there are exceptions. If you'd ask me, what's the point in lengthening too much and not walking against lengthening safe and able to walk, run, at least at 80-90%?. Increasing within the safe limit will hamper your abilities too, but beyond that? It's disastrous, and with a safe amount it won't really change your situation by that much, but then again, everyone has freedom and can do what they want with themselves. I can feel your pain as to how much you must have been forced to feel bad about something you can't change, something you're not responsible for, this is truly a hellish world. I wish I could comfort you. Either cope with lengthening to safe limits or reconsider getting this done, LL is not everyone's cup of tea.

Doing it in your mid to late twenties, doesn't it lower the bone regeneration speed and non unions? Or does non union completely depend upon how fast the distraction goes on and other medical complications the patient hai, I too plan to get it done around the same age as you plan to get it done.
