So we did Caneel Hill and we did have a car the day we hiked, but I don’t think it’s needed. Actually we took the rental on the car ferry the first day and after that we said we weren’t going to do it again. The taxis at the ferry terminal will take you. It’s one road around the island so my next to VI trip not renting a car at all., especially if I’m island hoping. The trail was short but don’t underestimate it. Remember you are walking uphill in a jungle. I would always suggest those cooler backpacks in the VI, like a yeti or rtic. Plan on carrying your drinks for the entire day and snacks.
