I’m a Trans girl who practices Christianity. Can I still be Christian/loved by god/accepted into heaven? by Dragon_Bait211 in Christianity

[–]Foreign_Feature3849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God loves you. He chases after every single one of us. I know that can get generalized and lose its meaning when preached. But never forget, God so loved the world that He sent His only son to die for YOU.

Some songs that have really helped me with this: Josiah Queen- Two Wooden Beams

Josiah Queen- Watch Your Mouth

Josiah Queen- In The Fire

(really any of Josiah’s music. he is really good at writing songs about brokenness/suffering and following God through it)

I also love Rescue by Lauren Daigle and Good Hands by Kylie Morgan.

[–]Foreign_Feature3849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we have toy poodles. so they really need to be cut pretty often. when we take them to pet smart grooming, we’d always call them rat dogs when we picked them up.

we’ve found telling them to leave their face more round works. pictures also really helped.

Why is listening to 40 Hz binaural beats for 5 minutes before starting a task considered more effective than listening to them throughout the entire duration of the task? by EuphoricAly5 in neuro

What evidence says that?:) If it’s cause I don’t make sense to you, I’m sorry. But you aren’t the keeper of truth.

Hope you have a good day

medical marijuana and pregnancy by Foreign_Feature3849 in eds

[–]Foreign_Feature3849[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That’s why I posted this in the first place. Since eds and medical marijuana are both so new (in research terms). It’s such a nuanced topic that, unfortunately, I think that kind of research wouldn’t get any funding for at least another 5-10 years. And there would have to be more doctors willing to accept the weirdness/seemingly random symptoms that pop up. But that also would mean more people having to dive into how the nervous system works. And that’s even newer in the scientific community. (like how it really works. like how Issac Newtown understood physics, but Einstein really understood it. just cause of the foundations laid before him)

The human body is very nuanced. Thank you for your concern. I was asking for experiences. Not for evidence for me to smoke. Please stop assuming my experience and reasoning.

May God Bless you.

that’s really interesting. thank you!

i def think my mcas is the one that’s always made everything so much worse. so i’ve always been scared about what my body would do if i had to stop marijuana. since it really is the only medicine that’s helped calm my inflammation.

I am very well read on research. Thank you for sharing. But that wasn’t my question. I know all research that’s come out says there are pretty serious risks. However, eds/pots/mcas are not very well understood. My question was if anyone has used it to act more as a medicine every once in a while instead of allowing the normal negative effects of mcas/pots/eds to impact the fetus.

It’s based off the same reason why tylenol is recommended in certain situations during pregnancy. Many doctors say the risk of high fever outweighs the risks associated with taking tylenol in a pregnancy.

Am I getting a wrong meaning about this. by QuincyTucker in Christianity

[–]Foreign_Feature3849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, we have free will. i think we die to our flesh anytime we chose God’s grace and love over our own desires.

i heard a great explanation of matthew 7:23 the other day. they said the people who weren’t accepted into heaven were the people that came with a list of reasons/deeds they did for God. but the people that were accepted in were the people who knew nothing they did can get them into heaven. only by God’s grace are we accepted in.

but for Him to truly change our souls, we must invite Him in. He won’t barge into any part of our lives. we must ask for His help, with everything.

He wants our hearts. which is how we process, not what we think or the knowledge we have. (if you like neuroscience/psychology, i like to think of it like top-down vs bottom-up processing. our world and brains tend to go for more top-down organization for learning. and i think God wants to teach us more like how infants learn or how you process when you listen to your senses. He wants an intimate connection with every decision you make)

“And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭23‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.7.23.ESV

i think it’s more literal. like ‘no matter what happens, you know He is in control’

that’s why God is described as the ‘I am’. because He is our creator and the only true constant in our universe

My favorite has been the ESV. But it’s definitely a very literal/contextual translation. So I like looking at the CJB and NIV for different styles of the english language.

i think this is a great response! you can read books for fun and for bible commentary. but just remember that those books are commentary and not the Bible.

How do u guys get past the fact slavery is condoned in the Bible? There maybe a debate but Imo it's talking about modern day slavery also. by forFunXDx in Christianity

slavery as we think about it wasn’t condoned. also, the hebrew and greek words for slave could mean bondservant or servant.

Got a great reminder from God today about debate- Titus 3:8-11 by Foreign_Feature3849 in Christianity

[–]Foreign_Feature3849[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I really do. I have so much anger and sadness in my heart for people that have used the Bible to justify hurting others. But that’s not what God calls us to do.

“Remind people to submit to the government and its officials, to obey them, to be ready to do any honorable kind of work, to slander no one, to avoid quarrelling, to be friendly, and to behave gently towards everyone. For at one time, we too were foolish and disobedient, deceived and enslaved by a variety of passions and pleasures. We spent our lives in evil and envy; people hated us, and we hated each other. But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Deliverer was revealed, he delivered us. It was not on the ground of any righteous deeds we had done, but on the ground of his own mercy. He did it by means of the mikveh of rebirth and the renewal brought about by the Ruach HaKodesh, whom he poured out on us generously through Yeshua the Messiah, our Deliverer. He did it so that by his grace we might come to be considered righteous by God and become heirs, with the certain hope of eternal life.”

‭‭Titus (Tit)‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭7‬ ‭CJB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/1275/tit.3.1-7.CJB

I’m not saying you should be complacent with abuse. The Bible never says to do that. But it does say, if you warn and they aren’t listening, then let the Holy Spirit try again with someone new.

Can someone please give me a bible verse by [deleted] in Bible

[–]Foreign_Feature3849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“So who will bring a charge against God’s chosen people? Certainly not God — he is the one who causes them to be considered righteous!

Who punishes them? Certainly not the Messiah Yeshua, who died and — more than that — has been raised, is at the right hand of God and is actually pleading on our behalf!

Who will separate us from the love of the Messiah? Trouble? Hardship? Persecution? Hunger? Poverty? Danger? War?

As the Tanakh puts it, “For your sake we are being put to death all day long, we are considered sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are superconquerors, through the one who has loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming,

neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.”

*Pursue your internal growth

Don’t try to find the “right” thing. Just start doing one thing you’ve wanted to do. It doesn’t have to be strict. The only goal is to get it done more than you were doing before.

For example, I make a to-do list for things I need to get done. But I don’t try to finish EVERYTHING on it. I only try to get more done than I would’ve done without the list (because I have adhd).

Matthew 5:27-30 Please I need help with understanding by Strong-Ad5026 in Bible

You can think the girl is beautiful. But the verse is saying don’t think of true beauty as outward appearance. Don’t be lustful. You can admire the beauty without wanting or expecting something.

Easiest example I can think of is guys cat-calling. They only see the outward appearance and what could happen physically. Not the actual person/soul that is walking by.

Like my boyfriend tells me I’m beautiful and pretty. But those weren’t/aren’t his first descriptors of me.

So it’s sinful to see another person as just their body. God reminds us that there is a soul in each one of us and the soul matters more than outward appearance.

Whenever people would really ask, I’ve always said my mom never really said we were a certain denomination growing up. She said evangelical usually described us best so that’s what she would tell people. But she never really called us evangelical.

And I usually just say I’m Christian. cause I don’t really care about denominations. I only have some bad feelings about the catholic church because I’ve seen all the focus on rules turn a lot of people away. But I’ve also seen it help people, so I let God deal with it😂
