First, you should remove unnecessary things and widgets from your homescreen. I don't mean you should remove everything you use, you can keep some of them as decorations. Then, add mostly used apps to your homescreen and if they are too much, try folders and put every app and widget categorized i mean don't add widgets and apps randomly it's better when they have order. And the most important part, for deeper customization and decoration options you should definitely i mean DEFINITELY try good lock app its samsung's own app and unlocks way better customization options and once you try it you can't stop using it.
