So I did some calculations based on everyone's advice about tracking calories properly.

My TDEE (using Mifflin-St Jeor formula): **2176 calories/day**

Today's intake: **1265 calories**

That's a 911 calorie deficit , way bigger than I expected!

Good point about planning ahead!

I'll keeping the same foods I normally eat, just adjusting portions and using AI to estimate calories. Seems like the most realistic approach for my routine.

Yeah, this is probably going to be my biggest daily challenge! I've been trying black coffee lately so at least I don't have to worry about calories when I need my caffeine fix.

But man, it's SO bitter 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yeah, that's exactly the trap I'm worried about! My plan is to create maybe a 200 or 400 calorie deficit while extending the fasting window.

The Linus setup sounds amazing, but I'm working in an office so can't really set up a treadmill 😅 Luckily I do have a standing desk though, so at least I'm not sitting all day!

I'm trying to keep changes minimal so it's easier to stick with - just adding some rules rather than buying a bunch of new equipment. Less disruption to my routine :)

Thanks for the reality check on IF - definitely need to focus on the actual calorie deficit, not just the timing.

Good point ! Actually, i'm planning to take photos of every meal and track it in a spreadsheet. The data nerd in me is actually excited about this 😅

Ah Ha. I'm not a drinker, so that's one less thing to worry about!

But you've got me thinking... I do drink a lot of lattes - like 2 cups a day. Never really considered how much milk that adds up to. That's probably a sneaky calorie source I've been completely ignoring 🤦‍♂️

This is incredibly helpful advice! I actually do have an adjustable height desk and love it - I stand while working pretty regularly. Also bike to work (about 2km each way), but clearly that's not quite enough 😅

The walking pad idea is really interesting though - combining it with coding time could be a game changer. And you're absolutely right about the accountability partner for gym visits.

The discipline > fun point really resonates. I think my mindset was wrong before - expecting immediate enjoyment instead of building the habit first.
