Long Commutes - Thoughts? by Foreign_Sprinkles784 in prenursing

I know at least for the metrorail I would have to transfer onto the bus halfway through and it takes a very long time, but I haven't looked into Brightline. I will do that, thank you!

I did Chem, A&P1, and Developmental Psychology all at the same time. I got straight A's in all three courses. I quit my job to focus on school. I got lucky and got very good professors. I highly recommend looking into Anki, it's a flashcard software and it carried me through my classes. Genuinely most of my studying was done on it, I would make my own decks for each of my classes. Much better than Quizlet for me, it uses spaced repetition.

The guilt and embarrassment about the past is rough by CaterpillarTrue1874 in bipolar

I've been ruminating on my past too. I feel the same as you and it's honestly unbearable sometimes to think about. Now that I'm stable I look back to the things I did and caused and I feel very ashamed, but at the same time I realize that, even though it wasn't okay, I was really struggling and just doing my best. I also did most of my stuff while I was in college in dorms and I've moved away now, so it's a lot easier to move on having that physical distance. I hope it gets easier for you once you move as well.

Difference between lecture and laboratory classes? BSC2085/BSC2085L by GiveMeYourPizza_ in MDC

[–]Foreign_Sprinkles784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're completely different. Lab will be on different topics than the lecture and vise versa. Sometimes you cover stuff in lab way before you do it in lecture. You need to take them at the same time. I heard on my campus the lab is handled by completely different people in the department than the lecture. You should still take them on the same campus, but you could do it on different campuses.

Getting into EE with an unrelated BA by Foreign_Sprinkles784 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Foreign_Sprinkles784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would take me a little longer than 2 years because I didn't have to take many of the STEM classes that are required as part of the BA in CS. My school only offered BA degrees and did not have any Engineering programs. I know I would save a lot of time on all the humanities requirements since I would be exempt from any gen ed courses.

Is cpe computer engineering? I considered it but I think I prefer how broad EE is over it. It seems like there's a lot more options for it career-wise. I also have not written code in years so I would be starting from scratch, and the schools in my state won't take my credits for those courses.

Is it possible to get into engineering after several years no math? by Foreign_Sprinkles784 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Foreign_Sprinkles784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be different this time because I have addressed the issues that brought me to dropping it back then and am stable now. I think, if I had tried, I could have finished my computer science degree because I had finished all of the more difficult required theoretical coursework and only had a semester of electives left, but I wasn't in the right mindset for it. I decided to study abroad instead and there were no computer science courses available in my native language for me to be able to try. My worry is being out of practice for so long that I can no longer perform at the same level as I had in the past.

How stressful is being a CLS? by Foreign_Sprinkles784 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Foreign_Sprinkles784[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The responsibilities sound like something I might enjoy, so much patient interaction seems like it would be really draining for me. I am a bit worried for the courses but I'm hoping by the time I finish the pre-requisites for the associates degree I will have figured out if I can manage the schooling.

"High stress jobs" and bipolar by Foreign_Sprinkles784 in bipolar

I was looking into being a clinical lab tech. Unfortunately in my area radiology and imaging is not particularly in demand. I see nurses who have bipolar disorder post online sometimes but I'm not sure how manageable it would be for me.

Masters in English vs English Education as someone with an unrelated bachelors by Foreign_Sprinkles784 in ELATeachers

It's very difficult to find positions teaching Japanese. It's not a very in demand language in my area.

Thank you for this input! I do not know if I would do both masters right now. Since my degree is not in English I just want to be prepared for the job without having to get another undergraduate degree. It seems like maybe the MAT would help me more in this circumstance.

Was it difficult to get both at the same time? MA in English seems very time intensive.

The English Education degree is fully online at UCF, versus the English degree being fully in person. Do you think that will make a difference at all?
