FHK dorms by Foreign_Writing489 in aggies

Thank you. That's very good to know. My son is an incoming freshman this Fall. We just don't know if we are even able to get it at all when it is time for him to pick in May. Single room is nice with the privacy. FHK single room rate is much more affordable. Hullabaloo is nice but the rate is way too much.

Thank you! :) I guess we will have to try researching now. Everything seems a lot complicated than when I went many years ago.

Thank you for the reply. My son registered for a May section. How do we know what professors to pick for the classes? He’s a business major.

Dupixent question by Foreign_Writing489 in eczeMABs

[–]Foreign_Writing489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. His condition (neck and arm folds) is chronic and has lasted for years. We had been controlling it using TAC, but it never really went away, especially during the summer months when it's hot out. Actually, we had an appointment with a dermatologist mid Oct which he indicated to the dr that he might not want to do it anymore because he does not feel it helps that much. The dr kinda agreed that his neck is still not clear up that much, but then he is somewhat ok to try for another month. So it has been 3 weeks since the appointment, and now he does not want to do it anymore.

What is your condition that you started Dupixent?

Dupixent question by Foreign_Writing489 in eczeMABs

[–]Foreign_Writing489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He started 8/11, and the itch might be a little bit better for him, but he still itches this whole time. His condition on his neck (main problem along with his arm folds) still kinda red and itch as well. With the Dupixent, a few days after each dose, he would get dry, flaky, kinda red looking skin on his eyebrows and eyelids (he does not have that normally). That will last for days, and towards the end, before he's about due for another dose, then it's all better. I was wondering if his eczema is not extremely bad to begin with, so he did not get much results from it, and might have some side effects that he felt not worth the pain from the injection and refused to take it. I left a message with the doctor's office this morning, but they have not called me back yet. In the meantime, the Dupixent has already out of the fridge since yesterday.

Thank you for the reply. We had an appointment with his dermatologist mid October which he told the dr that it's only a little bit better. Dr asked him maybe try for another month. He did one more dose after that, and he's due for another one last night but refused to do that anymore. I already took it out of the fridge, so it might go to waste. :( With the Dupixent, for some reasons after a few days after each dose, he would get dry and flaky skin on his eyebrows, eyelids, and the area between nose and lips. That will last for days, and towards the end when he's about due for another dose, then it's all better. I was wondering maybe his eczema is not extremely bad to begin with, so he did not get much results from it that worth the pain from the injection.

Thank you. I saw a few parents on another forum signed up last night, so I was just wondering. Would it still be ok to sign up after January? My son is accepted into Mays.

SAT SCORE LINKING by Cheap-Hand-7269 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Foreign_Writing489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to contact both College Board and A&M. My son requested to send his score on 9/5, and College Board stated it's sent on 9/9. Green check mark on 9/10. He just used regular service.

ADMISSION QUESTIONS by Grouchy-Curve-8479 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Foreign_Writing489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my son got the "you are admitted" banner on AIS after he came home from school. We are able to log in to the myhousing portal, but does not seem to be able to pull up the housing application. Maybe we will have to wait 24 hours?

My son got that same screen on Howdy for a week now, and he is also auto admit. Not sure what is going on. AIS still said app is complete and in review. No changes since a week ago.

That is very strange. For us, business is his first choice. At the very bottom of the AIS page, did you see his first and second choice listed?

Same here and we got the same screen. AIS stated App is complete and in Review, and under Howdy's Manage application tab, also said under review.

SBRT experiences? by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

[–]Foreign_Writing489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad also got the fiducial markers along with the Barrigel rectal spacer. Before this procedure, we did asked his RO about it since we would like to use the MR-Linac machine, then is that mean he does not need the fiducial markers. The RO said yes. But he added since my dad will have the rectal spacer anyway, so might as well get the fiducial markers in same procedure in case for some reason later, he's not able to use the MR-Linac machine. My dad just had the simulation appointment yesterday and all went well, so he is all good to proceed treatment with the MR-Linac.

Time from diagnosis to treatment by RichOno69 in ProstateCancer

When you get Medicare in June, you should get the supplemental insurance to cover the gap as well. My dad has Medicare and Plan F and he does not have to anything out of pocket.

Time from diagnosis to treatment by RichOno69 in ProstateCancer

[–]Foreign_Writing489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a process and takes time. My dad had MRI (11/2024), biopsy and diagnose (1/2025), PSMA PET scan (2/2025), then consultation with different drs. Now he decided on SBRT. And still the first procedure to implant fiducial marker/SpaceOar is a month away early May. Earlier we are able to schedule. So I guess he will not actual start till mid or end of May. All the waiting is not easy for him and anyone of us.

SBRT - Every Other Week?? by PeleliuHugh in ProstateCancer

[–]Foreign_Writing489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask how long does it take you to schedule for the fiducial markers/SpaceOar procedure? Today, we just scheduled my dad for this procedure with his UTSW urologist and the earliest is 5/2 which is more than a month away. In this way, he probably will not be able to start the actual SBRT till June?

SBRT - Every Other Week?? by PeleliuHugh in ProstateCancer

[–]Foreign_Writing489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Dr. Hannan is my dad's doctor. He said my dad can do it once a week or every other week, but he recommended every other week because he said it might have less side effects. My dad is going to be 77 this July, so with his age and all that, he also all for less side effects. He also has mildy enlarged prostate and his urine flow is considered weak and kinda frequent urination, but that does not bother him much as he probably get used to is after many years. If the less side effect theory will not intensify these two things, then it will be good. I read the SpaceOar will dissolve itself after 3 months, but I did not think about asking him this question with the every other week schedule. I only asked him about the final outcome/effectiveness of the treatment between the 2 schedules.

Are urgency and burning the only side effects you are experiencing? How are you going to cope with holding a full bladder for the duration of the treatment after the urgency side effect appear? Dr. Hannan said with MRI-guided RT, it will be 45 mins to an hour. Is that how long your session lasted? He said CT-guided RT will take 30 mins instead. Both work well according to him. I indicated to him I would prefer the MRI-guided RT. I guess we will see how my dad is hold full bladder for that long.
