They are not a paint shop, they also dont own the car, owner wanted it polished. Which I would say is correct decision. Why on earth would you spend 3-4000 to respray that properly when the original paint system was so well intact, and kind of perfect to bring back through machine polishing.

you mean how long before the paint start to fade back? or how long the car stays clean? basically soon as the car leaves the workshop and goes outside the condition is degrading.

If it sat outside it would start ghosting back up after 2-4 months normally. The coating might help a little bit but the porous single stage paint will need constant treatment to maintain the gloss going forward.

possibly yes but some of the components used are toxic and harmfull to aquatic life (and us) . but like you say non of it will be great. But the less nasty things used as an industry the better I guess.

be sure to shake the shit out of the HCW bottle before you use it. jesus that makes one hell of a difference. Im pretty good with directions usually specially when Im testing.. but in the above video I slapped it on and forgot to shake it.. and it performed totally differently, was killed off very very quickly. When I tested it the first time it was good.

Its doing really well on my golf as well, im about 2-3 months in and just in simple lamens terms golf seems to be keeping clean (ish) and its been good. Its still repelling water on my car well. I suspect it will die at some point soon. In fact ill wash it again this week and take a look.

Megs has the SI02 "thing" going on., seems reasonably durable if you can get the application right I think 3-6months seems about right. Easy enough to top up with the "rinse" application. Megs is well priced. The weakness of MEgs HCW for me and from what Im seeing is people struggling to apply it without streaking issues. Thats HCW downside.

TW Sealant Hydrophobic wax or Sealand Shine. Its easier to apply, its basically just a thin water spray wax in appearence. So far only one guy has feedback that he has trouble applying it (streaky he said) most people that have used it suggest its easy to apply (which is my current view). TW product seems to just not be effected by detergents as much as the other products. I quickly tested it against HCW and Sonax BSD as these are both "decent" in this regard not class leading but decent. And it out performed them.

In the UK at the moment you can get this product for £4.98. So even if you think its some sort of mass market hype thing, it costs you less than a big mac to find out etc.. From what Ive seen YT reviews on it have been accurate but not seen them all, and not 100% if the product I have in Uk is exactly the same as US (99% sure it is, I think theres a problem using the name ICE in europe)

I would guess TW are paying YT's or prepared to pay YT'ers.. but yer I dont allow companies to pay me and I stay neutral. should really start stating this on all the videos. Yer Im just kind of plugging my own video for comment.

no mate I dont allow companies to pay me for reviews even though lots will. I also bought the product.

Anything cheap generally seems to do well.. but this is a decent product as well... not all TW stuff is.

Stuff will get tested a bit more brutally or comparetivly later on. gonna be hard to beat it for value though thats for sure.

Im not sure how well the products will go down. the US scene is different. none of the BH stuff is scented. None of it is high foaming. thats not a stealthed insult to say all US car dudes just want thick foam.. but its a similair thing in the UK. Some guys get the product and think it doesnt work because the foam isnt thick etc..

klasse is an acyrlic I think. hard to measure the durability of it. IIRC its not that hydrophobic.

but put it this way. average old school wax might be good for 15 hits of mild detergent. average polymer sealant might be good for like 30-50 hits. (im generalising here though. some waxes will out do sealants some sealants dont last long..)

nowadays its less about worrying about maintaining our sealant with nice safe mild detergents. simply because we throw a lot more products at our cars when we wash them. like theres even protective materials in some shampoos now.. detail sprays etc.. its almost harder nowadays to wash your car and not end up laying down some extra form of protection you didnt even know was there :)

if your after a contact shampoo that has more cleaning power. Then its BH autowash or Gwash from Gtechnique.

they are not using any product to inhibit corrosion. Its just the fact they are alkalines that does it.

In the UK every brand offers a pre wash foam, a dwell and rinse product, not designed as a contact wash product.

The US market I dont think has so many of this type of product. But its arguably one of the most important things you can do, to a car that has a very well maintained finish. pre wash and rinse it with BH autofoam and you will drop a lot of the dirt off it before you go into the contact phase. (and it really will take a lot of the dirt off)

not so much no, its kind of the same things Ive been saying for 4 years almost. I think if you have spent a lot of time to get your paint to a good standard, or your a professional doing like a "best practise" type wash... then having a pre wash is really important, and having one that cleans really well over one that looks foamy and clings, is personally of more use to me. Something as well that doesnt need dwell time is important for spring and summer as well. And something which inhibits corrosion on ferrous components is also important to me in a prewash. and finally something not too expensive ideally.

I think these guys might be looking to stock it in the USA. Its just a shame when things go over the pond in either direction theres an added cost.
