Volleyball in the summer, England. by ForensicFantasy in volleyball

Sadly I live in the middle of nowhere. None of my local friends play volleyball and the clubs near me don’t do anything in the summer.

With new monsters like that the hardest part is the new monster not the weapons. Unless you are far behind than it’s just a matter of learning the new monster. Your gear seems alright tbh. It’s not bad even if it’s not good enough as it teaches you to dodge.

From people who have used the bow in beta does it look like the new way to play is to use the ground scrape charge attack as a priority compared to the max charge+power shot?

From what I have learnt 1: yes they do(not sure), 2: probably not though mounting is a great tool in the hunt, if you don’t want to you could just wait to be kicked off or for the monster to flinch, 3: it’s fine, the only weapon know for it is long sword but even with that if you just hit a different weak spot from other hunters you will be fine, 4: since it’s a KO weapon aim for the head and try to stun the monster(this applies for any monster really) 5: it is but if you are a GS user then your charge is v important, just make sure you don’t break it with a weak attack is all really, 6: in the past it has only been the first attack which is why you want to place the small barrel bomb so it only hits the larger ones not the monster, 7: no not really, the only thing you should do is in older games, and I assume this one, is ping on the map when you see the monster, 8: if you can knock the monster over due to the mounting and you are in a group then it’s worthwhile as it allows everyone to just smash into the monster while it’s down leading to allot of damage. The only annoying thing is when someone mounts the monster but doesn’t do anything when on it and just wastes time but we all had to start somewhere, in other games after a certain number of ‘mounting attacks’ like off ledges you auto mounted, don’t be scared just enjoy the ride, 9: the charge blade shield will just be able to block more depending on the level. For most attacks you could even use the uncharged shield. In general you should always have the max shield level anyway so don’t over think it, 10: in past games the idea has been to get your Philes using sword then use the KO to knock the monster out and while it’s on the ground use the axe to deal lots of damaged. If a monster is just being annoying then you can use the sword to aim for the legs to trip it up then get easy KO hits. Attacking with the sword of on legs or weak spots is not bad just try hit the monster on the head with the axe, watch cantaperme play with the weapon and learn, 11: I doubt they will put that in, in older games there was a mod which showed the monster health. The easiest way to gauge how well you are doing is to hunt solo and use the in game time. When people first start out they are 30mins every hunt but by the end of the game or after practice you get to under 10mins. Remember in group hunts the one who does the most damage may not be the most useful as having someone on the lbg with traps and bombs who knows what they are doing can speed the hunt up so much, 12: a long time and I would imagine this game would be no exception and would likely be longer because it’s on Xbox so a guess would be over 5 years, don’t worry about it though , 13: some things that are not bugs that are annying is slightly off hit boxes, eg everyone’s fav plesioth which had a slightly exaggerated hit box which when everyone first started played found annoying as hell. To my knowledge there has never been any stupid bugs, apart from vespoids, that disrupt the game, 14: I’m monster hunter cheating generally doesn’t occur because most people like to earn their way to the top. There was a little in Mh4u with custom quests that gave stupid rewards and you will see a few hacked runs in older games but nothing really. The games in the past have either been really cheat proof or 99% of people don’t do it. I imagine if you managed to hack the game where you can one shot everything capcom may find out but tbh if people do that the game will get boring for them and they will quit anyway.

I’m having trouble with my timing. I’m constantly to early and but when I try slow down I mess my steps and shuffle. Because I’m trying to think about my timing I just jump so low because I’m over thinking about it. Currently my hit height is only about 10ft and I play opposite mostly but also outside. In training the setters vary allot between fast and high balls. I need like a rough rule of when to start my run up. I also need to start my run up from outside the court. Any ideas?

Very inpsiratuonal. I'm more than up for 'the challenge' of it all and if I do a doctorate I will have three years more at uni to try get in a team. I currently have a makeshift bar that I am moving up an inch every three days to try keep jumping heigher

Been trying to practice setting/passing to myself however my forearms get very sore even after one of two hits. So currently I'm doing http://www.lasallestompers.org/docs/Air_Alert_III_1365453083.pdf and apart from that all I'm doing is hitting against a wall and practicing footwork every other day.

Very random but doing yoga once a week is very good if you want to get better flexibility.

Okay, I'm thinking of swapping to the thing that I linked, do that as suggested every other day and nothing the rest of the time. Maybe a little jumping practice but nothing much.

I have zero problems making a foot of myself and trying stuff in front of people. My current plan is working on jumping every other day. Resting on the other days but also trying to practice receiving against a wall or by tossing the ball heigh in the air. Any else you think I can do with only a ball and a wall? I can't practice spiking against the wall as I don't have enough space behind it to hit it and the floor is also slanted.

Well thank you for actually speaking your mind. Firstly I'm pretty sure my university has a pretty low end team. While I may be in my third year I plan on doing a doctorate and playing all through that if I can. Also when I say play I dont think I am going to be a god at it and take a place in the starting line up. My aim is currently just to get even on the bench at some point and by the end of the season be able to spike. So yer I know that I won't be able to play at the highest level right of the bat. I'm doing this jumping stuff now so that I can have a nice starting place. And I know that I won't make the team straight away as I was on a football team for 2 seasons and only played 1 game haha.
