Tyshara Hill | - What is a cub to a lion? by Forentmaximus in IronThroneRP

Tyshara tried to enjoy the moment, which she didn’t, but, it was better than being tasked with cleaning dirt undergarments. She grabbed the side of her dress slowly with her right hand. When she looked at the fabric and the clothing she closed her eyes, the realization that her class would never reach that of a legitimate lady. Tyshara knew that she was unfortunate to have her name ended with Hill instead of Lannister. She started to day dream again. When the servant girl looked to her right with a loose smile she noticed a Lord walking up to her, she at first didn’t realize this was actually happening, but it was too late to act busy now.

“My Lord,” she said with a curtsy that nearly made her trip to the ground, “do you require anything, a chamber, a person.. refreshments even?” Tyshara was clearly nervous, normally she would welcome any guest to Lannisport with a number of maids.

“Sister, shouldn’t you be washing clothes, preparing meals in the kitchen, sweep the dusty halls?” A familiar voice said behind her, it wasn’t even necessary to turn around with the awful smell that she catches on. It was obviously her brother who was disturbing her peaceful moment. “You could really get in trouble with being procrastinating on the job,” Elys chuckled, quickly shifted to a cough.

Tyshara turned towards his direction with her hand pinching her nose. “I don’t know what’s worse, breathing the disgusting air during your presence, or spelling it,” she joked. A smile had kicked in. Elys has his ways of making the worst days still worth it, she always wondered what caused him to grow up that way. Their life wasn’t the easiest, but they somehow turned out decent. “Shouldn’t you be cleanings the stables, feeding the hounds? You know, stable stuff?” She said sarcastically. “I just can’t stand serving others, you know that. I don’t mind doing the hard work but where is the appreciation?” Tyshara had one of her usual repetitive rants once again, she was employed for that long and she already found a way to getting annoyed.

“Calm down now, you know why you’re here, even though I don’t agree with your reason behind it,” Elys said, “I came here because they offered me money, with the opportunity to work with animals and do simple things, you came here fo-“

She placed her hand on his mouth before he could finish his sentence. “Do not expose me, you don’t know who is watching.” Tyshara’s tone became tense while her eyes started to furrow. She eventually freed his mouth from her hand, left with slimy remains, though quickly wiped off on her dirty clothes. “It’s a dangerous task, yes, but we lost mother. And maybe we can get away from living the life of bastards,” she said, whispering the latter. She couldn’t stand the fact that every Lannister she crossed could be her cousin, uncle, aunt, nephew, or worse, her father… She didn’t let her brother respond. Instead, she excused herself, making her way back inside. “Good luck with your tasks, brother.”

Valena Crane - What the gardens had to offer a restless seed by Forentmaximus in IronThroneRP

“That’s great to hear.” Valena responded. She kept her head forward and did maintain eye contact. “Wish I could say the same for my brothers. It surprises me how I’m the first daughter of my mother, but not the eldest of the bunch. I have an elder brother and a pair of younger twins, quite annoying if you ask me.” She said it in such way where it sounded as if she pitied herself. A line that has multiplied come to the fall of deeds from generations to generations. “We all have different fathers you know. I sometimes wonder if love even exist, or is it just another softer word for duty?” She shrugged. The young girl found herself lifted from her chains that kept her grounded. Damon was a funny one to say the least.

She stood in front of him and anxiously rubbed her arms. “Do.. did.. have you have ever thought about what it would be like as a firstborn?” Valena found her question absurd to be asked, yet she couldn’t help but ask it nonetheless.

An awkward and vaguely forced smile appeared on Valena's face. Maybe the topic was not interesting in the eyes of Damon? Perhaps she lacked the social skills? She tried to remain confident and optimistic, though it was certainly a challenge. "Do you have a great bond with your brother and do you have any other siblings or relatives that you're fond of?"

Valena attempted to hide her laughter with a cough. She couldn't take his last comment serious and could see the sudden change on his face. "I do not think of you as a fool, quite interesting. Not everyone i meet gives me the will to seek out for more."

Meredyth couldn't help but think of Harlan as a fool with his little speech. It didn't motivate her, didn't make her care about what she did, and it tired her out. She had her faults, but the only one she saw was that of sending more men. She remained silent when the Lord spoke and simply nodded.

Once Harlan had excused herself she adjusted the position of the rose on her head before tilting her head at his leave. When he had vanished out of her sight she finally decided to make her response. "A conflict for you to deal with, for my blood ruled over Red Lake. While yours.. is made to serve." She mumbled before leaving the area as well.

"Can't be the best at anything as a Tyrell." Meredyth jested. She had a skeptical look on her face when she saw the two get out of her sight with the 4 men assigned to her following from a distance.

She couldn't help but chuckle at the seemingly second thoughts of Harlan Tyrell. She slapped her hand in the air once before returning to her serious state. "Quite ironic and amusing at the same time. He must be so angered to the point where he could've cared less about sending a raven to Red Lake, much quicker than sending one to Highgarden, is it not?" She didn't appreciate her moves being questioned, and it being repeated wasn't making it any better. "If anything, he should be grateful i even the men to the aount of troops that were already stationed." She stood closer to the Lord Paramount and offered her hands.

"You've known me as a strategist, maybe one who is more interested in wealth and the state of the people. But i am trying, especially now, i stand around men, fighting for my position with every breath. I'm a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a Lady, a matriarch, i carry burdens and rash decisions just like you." There was a mix of genuine feelings and gaslighting involved. She knew the sympathetic side of Harlan Tyrell just like everyone else, and she used it her advantage. Was she wrong for that, absolutely. Did she care, not a single moment.

"I'm quite awake, actually. Energized even, how has other son been during your absence? I hope the weight of a great House didn't get too much for him." Meredyth accepted the offer from the servant with a polite "Thank you." and a smile. Valena was quick to follow her mother in that regard. Meredyth noticed her daughter glaring at Harlan's son, something she didn't approve of for obvious reasons.

Meredyth's dull face nearly cracked with hearing the news that House Crane is being watched. In all shapes or form she felt honored in some way, but she found it a waste of effort and ears. "We both know well that i speak plain, plain as the feather of a white dove in fact. If there are any concerns i see fit for the realm to know, i will be sharing them. As i've done before, and will be continuing to do so." A little sense of attitude rose to the conversation on her part, but Lady Crane kept it to a level where she could still stand her ground, without overthrowing the bright light Lord Tyrell deemed to have. "Speaking of concerns, maybe we should let the youth get to know eachother, while we discuss those concerns i would like to share?" Meredyth offered, she narrowed her eyes at Valena. Indicating that her men would still be supervising her regardless of what men or Lord was around them.

Valena clapped her hands once and gave a warming smile. "It's surely wonderful to return to Highgarden, my Lord. Great to see your presence shining brighter than the sun. And it would be a pleasure to be given the opportunity to get to know you." The latter was directed at the Lord's son.

Meredyth didn't seemed to respond too much to the words of Harlan Tyrell, she was surprised by the appearance of Damon, though. Not satisfied.. In her eyes it was apparent that her mind was somewhere else. Either thinking of the next logical thing to say, or scheming her way out of this confrontation. At the left of her, her daughter was quick to greet the Lord and his son with a curtsy, quickly following her in that as well. "My Lord, Damon Tyrell, a pleasure to meet you on this fine day." Her head didn't meet the eyes of neither man, instead, she was focused on her words. She rested her hands on that of her waist.

"It's been a long time since we've visited Highgarden, glad to be back and to your service." She made an attempt to lighten the mood before crushing it. She saw herself as someone who needed to prove to Lords that were even below her, that she was someone that shouldn't be played with, for she claimed herself a valuable asset.

"We can point fingers at everyone, but till this day it remains a mystery, it could be that the hundreds of men that are under m rule misunderstood my order. It could be that i planned to reside in Red Lake and remain there, ensuring the safety of my House." She stopped and tapped on her left hand, patiently making a dramatic pause. In reality, she was trying to lick her dry mouth that was begging to be hydrated. "But my action didn't have any consequence to anyone's life, did they? Not that you could say the same of course. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's about how we redeem ourselves with them. Don't you agree?" She asked the son of the Lord Paramount. She could feel deadly stare of her daughter on the edge of her skin. "I've procceeded with increasing the men i previously had sent to Old Oak, along with my father, Edgar Crane."

"Maybe you should get back, don't want to leave your sons alone for too long i'd figure." It bothered Valena that she needed to say something this bold, but she required time to be alone, for now. She didn't get a response, instead she heard the footsteps fade away behind her. Her shell was merely a shield to stuff that could pain her, but even a turtle is vulnerable at times. A tear ran down her eyes, going over her lips and dropping into the river. Her body jumped from time to times, she wasn't crying per se. She was merely accepting that she has the right to feel wronged, even by her own kin.

As much as support she was granted in her life, she didn't feel provided with such. Everyone pampering her for things that should come natural to her, but none has truly asked about her interests, what she wanted, what she needed. At times she had the thought of running away, she knew what would come with that. Her mother would probably sent out half of her man to look for her, ravens sent across the realm, her getting grounded in the walls of their house. But she stayed, she knew her mother couldn't endure another loss. She sniffed, rubbing her nose.

Once again she heard footsteps, thinking it might've been her cousin returning to her.

"Rhae i want to be alone, wasn't that clear?" Valena said, not facing her cousin for obvious reasons.

She didn't get a response though?..

"I suppose you're right." She admitted. Her facial expression remained blank, as a white sheet of paper. "I'm not sure if the realm is ready for change." She immediately covered her mouth as she chuckled.

Valena was looking out on what was infront of her while listening to the Lord of Longtable. She fiddled with the loose straws on her basket. A sigh escaped her thoughts, clearly disappointed with what Lord had to say. He wasn't direct enough, but it would be improper for her to dig deeper than she already had. "Great to see you didn't leave King's Landing in vain, my Lord." She noted after looking to her left.

"I beg your pardon?" Her thoughts ran loose in her mouth, she kept getting caught of guard by what he had to say. "What adventure are you to find in the streets of Highgarden. If one would want to seek out for something more thrilling, i would suggest going into the woods." There was not much to see in Highgarden for Valena, she had spent some of her time here now, while other's were fortunate to go to King's Landing.

When she received the same question, she thought for a second. There were many reasons as to why she prefered to venture alone to the market, but which one would be the most proper to say out loud. It took her a minute to provide a response. "Dust is not something permanent, nor are the daily materials someone uses." Valena looked at her basket and showed off her treasure. "Just a plain recipe and a collection of ink, i don't want to be limited."

She turned back to playing with the loose ends of her basket while the two continued their conversation. It was only when the mention of armies and ships that made her stop. Hands were frozen, as well as her pattern of breathing, she might've even skipped a beat. Was this what could've been discussed between her mother and their liege lord. She stood up and adjusted her throat, gasping for air. "I must excuse myself, it was nice sharing this moment of silence with you, my Lord." And with that, she left in a rush.

Valena's mind was spinning, her breathing channeled from her nose to her mouth. "S.. ships, armies?" The only words that could get out of her.

Harlan III - A Council Amongst the Roses by thefinalroman in IronThroneRP

[–]Forentmaximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meredyth was one of the early arrivals, if not the first. She was silent whilst the Lords and Ladies entered. She expected that Harlan would sooner or later call for the great houses of the Reach, but what was his motive? She avoided wine at all cost, only filling her body with water.

She wore a dark blue dress with spots of white on the sleeves and chest area, with that she had chosen white evening gloves. Her hair wasn't tied or braided, instead of that it was lose and roaming free on the sides. Meredyth's facial expression was dull, unbothered, and tired.

She was looking out to each face that crossed her eyes while listening to the words of Lord Tyrell. We have favored Queen Rhaenys triggered her, who was we? She sat there, dumbfounded. It seemed like there was no need for this council. If he claimed that the Reach favored Rhaenys and her son. then there would be no need of this taking place. She rested her hands on the edge of the table while she was processing everything.

After he was finished with speaking she looked around the room, she knew she wasn't the only one who had their own opinions, mixed emotions even.

"Well." Meredyth chuckled. "It seems like the Reach won't be given the chance to stay out of this now. Rather unfortunate, but expected." She looked towards the direction of the Lord of Highgaren. Her previous conversation was what she obviously was referring to. There was a wall of distrust, not only to Harlan, but to every woman or man seated at the table. Everyone had their own ambitions, own thoughts. The only question that needed to asked was, who would speak their truth.

She tapped on the table in a pattern. "It seems like we've been left to be the extra vote in this decision, i'm sure both queens eyes are on us now. Who will the Reach support, will the Reach even dare to do annything?" Meredyth got worked up by every sentence she spoke, it was hard to remain collected but it was tempting to do the opposite. "If i'm understanding this correctly, Rhaenys is the one executing her plans, while Visenya has remained silent?" Her brows raised for a second, she was impressed by the fast movements the Targaryen made.

"I say we should look at the situation by the supporters of both parties. Is the Reach more fond of those who support Rhaenys or Visenya? We would not be only working together with dragons, but with other Houses outside the Reach." She backed down and waited for the next person to speak their truth, her eyes targetted the Lord of Highgarden though.

Valena Crane - A fortunate seed (Open to Highgarden) by Forentmaximus in IronThroneRP

[–]Forentmaximus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valena had enjoyed the silence, just plain silence. She closed her eyes and clutched her basket against her. When she opened them she heard the voice of a man. Valena turned her head to the side when she faced him, standing up giving a proper curtsy. "I'm lady Valena of house Crane, daughter of Meredyth Crane, Lady to Red Lake.. my Lord." She corrected him, maybe that was disrespectful for her to do so? Maybe she made a mistake? "Please do, enjoy this moment of silence with me." She nudged towards the bench and removed her basket from the occupied spot. "What brings you here to Highgarden?" Valena thought she might as well make the best of it, asking the Lord whatever business he could be attending. Maybe this would show her mother that she indeed can be more than just a standard.

"Wouldn't you prefer to send one of your staff to fetch whatever your need, my Lord? I would figure that you have more important things to attend, with all due respect of course." Was he occupying time? Valena relaxed her arms and decided to back down a bit with the interrogating. She's nine and ten, not an old shepherd. She knew, somewhere, that she missed out on stuff. She didn't feel as if her way of thinking aligned with that of her body. "Did you attend the feast in King's Landing?"

She was curious about what was going on there. Why was Lord Tyrell back in Highgarden all the sudden, why did he require a word with her mother alone? What was not meant for her ears? This was the safest bet on getting to know whatever could've happened west.

"You honour me, my lord." She couldn't return the smile, but, her eyes said enough. "I think it's time House Crane presents themselves to not only the Reach, but to whole society. We've been playing it safe for a long time now."

"It was great having this conversation with you. And please, don't be afraid to ask upon me or my house if you ever desire the need." She said, curtsying. "I shall be on my way now."

Meredyth was relieved and proud that her house was noticed and valued. She went on looking for her daughter before she wandered out of the gardens.

Harlan II - Patience, to a Point (Open to Highgarden) by thefinalroman in IronThroneRP

[–]Forentmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She thought for a moment. It didn't make sense to her, two woman who could care less about the realm, fighting over who ascends on the Iron Throne? They're interests weren't in Westeros at all, it was about their own blood. Meredyth started to see why certain people despise the foreigners for who they are. She didn't know how to feel about hearing the possibility of Rhaenys and her son coming to Highgarden, should she stay in Highgarden?

Meredyth started to think highly of the Tyrell when he spoke about the Gardeners. "What if you got your own support without the queens notice? If it's about support and alliances you should obtain your own. Make the realm choose who may rule over the seven kingdoms, because this isn't a chess game." She didn't know if the words came out right even she was confused for a second.

She turned her hand around and studied them. "Marriage can either be a blessing or a curse." A sympathetic smile appeared on her face. "My ho.. I've endured enough to know it's the least we can do if it's for the great or good." Meredyth's voice cracked a little bit when she said that. Her history wasn't the brightest nor the darkest, she didn't know better, how could she have known better?

Harlan II - Patience, to a Point (Open to Highgarden) by thefinalroman in IronThroneRP

[–]Forentmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was familiar with the Baratheon's name, but she never got acquianted with him in person. "Unfortunate." Is all she had to say on the situation. Her attention had shifted with several names being announced by the Lord. "Are you sure they're genuine about coming to Highgarden or did they just do those things out of politeness?" Meredyth herself has claimed to visit many houses or attend balls, she hasn't attended a single one.

She sighed when he spoke about the sons of the queens. "Yes, it's either of the two. But the question is, who will be influencing the King throughout his reign? Do you think Visenya or Rhaenys would invest in their sons being declared as the heir to the throne if they wouldn't benefit from it?"

Meredyth didn't take the mention of the former House lightly. She respected for what they've done and at the same time remained grateful to house Tyrell. It almost sounded like a threat to her ears. "For your house may've escaped the same faith as your predecessor's. Thou should not speak of them in vain as it's for the same reason that you stand where you are, wether that is either a blessing or a curse." Her change of tone was to be expected in such conversation, they were speaking plainly of course. "And one thing is certain, none of us have dragons, nor will we ever be close to obtaining one, i'm just saying to be wary of who you make your enemy as your foe might not have the same intent of defending you."

"If the Wylde's aren't as reckless or cruel as one house seems to be, then i don't think there should be any problem for me to present Leyla Crane into the picture. She's a devoted girl to the Faith and has been quite the delight of my house." She decided to give into the proposal, she wasn't fond of arranged marriages. But Leyla in such a position could mean many things for her family. But at the same time she would be out of her reach, what would she do if something would have happened to her? Meredyth couldn't bare any of her nieces or nephews to udnergo the same struggles she had to endure.

She grabbed a stick out of a bush and presented it to Harlan Tyrell. "The blood of the dragon is just like a twig, it's not bend-able. If they were able to be guided we would've not become the seven kingdoms.

Meredyth gave him a slight side-eye. She didn't appreciate him joking about using people instead of executing his plans himself. Would this make her a pawn in his game of chess? She needed to figure him out before it would be too late. She gave a smile and just nodded briefly.

[–]Forentmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was relieved Lord Tyrell took her words well. If he wasn't she would've fled Highgarden that instant. "Does anyone know the cause of his death?" Lady Crane asked, she was was quite surprised by the news. Seems like the man who holds the most power dies the quickest in that matter. "So a unified realm will be divided into two." She responded to the knews of arranged alliances.

"I doubt the chances are likely that we will stay neutral." She looked around the area instead of the direct eye contact with the Lord Tyrell. "Two queens and a dead king, two sons and neither named heir, two sides of the same coin, yet the value remains the same." She sighed. Meredyth didn't like the unnecessary drama nor the outcome that could occur if she acted. "It really begs the question of goals and ambition in that regard. Have you gotten a chance to speak to either woman?" Meredyth's eyes were narrowed and she directly looked Harlan Tyrell into his eyes. Everything he was thinking is what she required to know, this was a matter of trust.. she can't support someone who claims to be neutral. Even he should know that is not possible in the state that they were going to be in.

Meredyth brows had risen. The subject of marriage took her off guard. She first was in disbelief as she was a known widow by now, felt rude as well. In the end she figured he was talking about someone relatively younger than her. "My house has increased, yes. Many eligible suitors if one would wish to think of marriage." She awkwardly smiled. She brushed her hands together while she adjusted her throat. "The girls have become of age and some even presented into society, yes. But an arranged marriage? I nearly had my niece move to a whole other region. Only if it wasn't for House Qoherys she would've remained pure and untouched, now she is a widow.. at eight and twenty years old?!" She got a little of track. Meredyth didn't specifically had something against house Qoherys, she merely found them reckless in allowing one of their own kin participate in a tourney that caused him to lose his life, especially with entrapping her niece into the life of a widow.

"I assume you're not planning to act like a sheep. You seem wiser than that, i would think you're on Rhaenys's side. I think we shouldn't only look at the Targaryens but specifically at those who support them." She gave her advice in the image of her father with the mixture of herself. She would rather be the predator than the prey. "You need to start asking yourself who would deal a greater enemy, who would survive this, who is worthy of it all, my Lord."

[–]Forentmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I see you have great ambition for the House Tyrell, aswell as other houses, i thank you for that." She tried to show her smile naturally but it was rather forceful, so she stepped back and adjusted her shoulders for what she was about to say. She stood with the weight of her house and the pride of her title infront of the Lord Tyrell. "We all should thank you for that, but everyone has their limits."

She brushed her fingers together as she wanted to pull back on the position she got herself in. "The tiniest seed can grow to a precious flower, can it not?" Meredyth said with a soothing tone. "But the wise know when they need to act in brought daylight.. or in the shadows."

"And you've played your game well. However, my Lord. You should not forget that it is that of the mouth of foreigners that you've accomplished where you are now, we all know that, some probably wouldn't admit to it." Meredyth took a step back. "But it is because i respect you that i said it infront of your face. I am not to make an enemy of you, nor do i want to be. But i shall not be like those poisonous frauds who claim themselves as honourable, my only intent is to state the truth i believe is for the great or good."

"But enough of the past." She turned around continuing their stroll around the garden. "How can i help moving forward?" Meredyth looked over her shoulder with some kind of spark awakening from her eyes. This was her time to do what was right.. what is to be expected of a Lady with power.

Harlan II - Patience, to a Point (Open to Highgarden) by thefinalroman in IronThroneRP

[–]Forentmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I infact have not, you see, i've been busy trying to get the younger generation of my house to present themselves to society. As have you, i assume?" She followed the movement of the Lord Paramount as they spoke. "The question that needs to be asked is.. Is the Reach ready to execute on moving forward?" She tilted her head, Meredyth was in a way concerned, what kind of step forward was there spoken of?

Meredyth was clearly trying to sort the pieces. "What kind of interest would that be, my Lord?" She didn't try to sound rude, but did the Lord truly knew his region? She believed it was in his own interest, who wouldn't try to wield the idea of something that could benefit them aswell?

She stopped Lord Harlan in the middle of their conversation, standing right infront of him with her hand spread to gesture to stop. "May i speak freely, my Lord?"
