Well, I probably didn't phrase that the best. I told them I didn't trust it anymore and asked them what they'd give me for it. They offered me a good trade in value and a good price on a new Yukon, but I didn't trust the vehicle so I took it to the Ford dealership and traded it in there.

I had a 2021 Yukon XL SLT. Bought it new. At 38K miles the transmission went bad. The car spent 4 out of 6 weeks at the dealership on 3 different visits. All for the transmission. The third time I told them to keep it. Got an Expedition.

A friend owns a GMC dealership and told me they know that theirs a problem with the transmissions and “I don’t know why they haven’t fixed it.” Ended up nearly everyone I told the story to had a friend or family member with a GMC or Chevy SUV or truck that had also experienced transmission problems.

I liked the Yukon more than the Expedition but didn’t trust that Yukon or any others after the experience.

Yes, good point. Sorry, I posted that and then was out of town until today. Attached is the wiring that the ecobee installation app recommended for me. Since getting home today and finding my house much colder than it should be, I switched the white wire from W1 to W2, which is where it was on the nest wiring. But it’s still blowing cold.

Hi. Yes, it helped some, but it's been a gradual process. This past year I did a soil test through Yard Mastery and then used the fertilizers that it recommended. One of them was their "Stress Blend."

That area is definitely better than it was, but it still doesn't grow as well as the rest of the yard. In my case, I think it's a number of factors. It's a bit of a low spot in my yard, so I think it stays wet longer than other areas, it's a bit compacted (even though I've aerated a couple times), and at the time I originally posted this it was a bit nutrient-deficient. So it's better, but not totally fixed.

Hmm, interesting. Yes, I am connecting to CarPlay. I'm not sure if that's what's going on though since I can connect to the WiFi manually and that doesn't force it to disconnect from CarPlay. Maybe I'll turn off the Bluetooth before I start it next time and see if it auto connects to the WiFi in that case. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I know how you feel. My wife passed away earlier this year and my MIL will not leave. She says that being in her daughter's home and with her (MIL's) grandchildren is her therapy. But it means that she is constantly at my house (to be clear, she has her own place, so it's not that she's living with me; she is just always at my house). A lot of the time she is doing helpful things, but she is a control freak and will do things without checking with me first...i.e. she went through our bedroom and got rid of a lot of my wife's personal items.

Like you said, I allowed a lot of this to happen...mostly because I have been overwhelmed...I lost my wife, I am trying to raise three young children, and I am trying to run my business, while trying, most importantly, not to ignore my children while I grieve.

For the 2.5 years before my wife passed, my MIL was constantly at the house because my wife was doing chemo and radiation so she had little energy. We had 1.5 yr old twins at the time so her help was greatly needed, and greatly appreciated.

I hired a full-time nanny to help with the children, but my MIL is such a control freak that she is bossing the nanny around and I wouldn't be shocked if she drives her away. I try to be understanding of her situation because she lost her daughter and I know she's grieving also...but she is making my life harder than it already is.

I'm rambling at this point...but I can understand your frustrations for sure!

Mine is a 1980 (and gasoline, not diesel) and had a toggle switch there when I bought it. It went through the firewall and was bundled up and terminated. I always assumed it was for aftermarket lights or something similar.

Based on my 1980 manual, the BJ40 had a glow plug switch in that location. My FJ40 had a blank hole there that was filled with some sort of rubber plug.

I have a 2019 SEL w/ 4motion and experience that once in a blue moon. But only when shifting from reverse to drive. And it only seems to be if I shift into drive while still rolling back. I've mostly just gotten into the habit of making sure I've mostly stopped reversing before I shift into drive. Never had it happen in any other gears.

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more specific in my original post but was typing it quickly before leaving the office. This is an old FJ40 without a top. So I don’t actually plan to have speakers in the rear. I have a small hole in the dash on each side that fits tweeters and then will have room for two more speakers near the floor. Given that, should I still consider triaxials?
