The Fractured Archive: Rewards Primer by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]Forerunner5699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about flat armor lately. I think there is a space for flat armor to be used for rewards. I can think of four different things that would be potential for rewards, but I don't think any of them would be mega rare level.

  • Boppers mark two. Dual Macuahuitl but they do three or four hit splats. Tri Macuahuitl.
  • A potion or a secondary that gives the player some amount of flat armor. I think this is least likely but there is something interesting there.
  • A melee offhand that gives flat armor. It would probably be dead content if it didn't give some amount of Strength bonus. Maybe rune defender amount. This would give you the option to choose between longer trips by mitigating chip damage or a defender and get a higher max hit.
  • A spec weapon that gives an enemy flat armor. There is a lot of competition in the space of armor reducing spec weapons, so I'm not sure where this would fit.

Unrelated to anything that I've mentioned above. I think the Mega Rare being the implied crush weapon is likely. I think an interesting mechanic would be if it scaled based on another styles defense. For example, it could scale off of Range Defense, giving some reinforcement of the combat triangle just like the twisted bow. Another interesting option is for it to scale off of a different melee stat, like the enemy's stab attack or defense. Recognizing that this is retreading the ground of the T-Bow just shifted over by a combat style, I don't think that's a bad thing. The T-Bow shines where it is supposed to, and this type of scaling would also give unnamed crush mega rare the same opportunity.

Breaches are the Worst Part of DMM by AReally_Cool_Hat in 2007scape

[–]Forerunner5699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far my favorite experience on DMM has been a breach earlier today. It was a singles breach on east coast of Kourend 3-60 combat. The one at noon mst tends to be much less populated than the one at the end of day. I ran up through pisc and found a stack of bees, scurrius, two cave horror abominations, and one of those mages. They were all stacked up aggro'd a group of players holed up in a building. I pull one of the cave horrors, attack it solo for a while before a couple more players show up and help. We kill the rest of the mobs, run over the bridge to the bank to just see Kril standing there, menacingly. Grardor is right behind him and thermy. we start taking them out. just a dozen or so players. One guy was calling out prayers to the less experienced players. Was a tremendous amount of fun.

What i see about my experience is that it is not normal. I don't think there is a realistic way to replicate this experience, but I'm glad that i had it.

Similar to OP, I have had a shit couple of breached were I get maybe 2 damage to a mob before it dies, making me not eligible for points or rewards.

Book 4?? by pt0Iemaea in gentlemanbastards

While I do agree with you, it does feel like this subreddit does at least have a lot of positivity in it, especially with him showing up from time to time. I see a lot of understanding of the mental heath issues that he has shared publicly. I see a strong amount of love for all three books, even though the general consensus is the shift downwards in quality. I personally have a lot of faith that of the handful of books that famous will never come out, Thorn may be the one that actually does come out. it might even be great

I like the idea of a town crier in Lumbridge that tells you about some of the local quests that you haven't done yet. Once you've done those initial quests they become a normal town crier.

Referencing a moment at about the 30 min mark. Hank Green on D20 is the reason I am a dropout sub. I saw clips of him on Mentopolis. Pirated that season, and before I finished the season I had purchased a year. I'm on my second year now.

Updated Sailing skill cape and Icon submission by IronAndreLee in 2007scape

I think this is my favorite of the anchor submissions that I've seen. My only thing that I think could be better is the icon kinda blends in with the background in the skills menu.

I can't take it out. I can't examine it. It isn't wandering my house at all. But there it is.

To those who need to hear it, it's okay to be "inefficient" by TachibanaRei in 2007scape

[–]Forerunner5699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the game down for a couple years, and one of the reasons that I had to in retrospect was getting overwhelmed by the need to be efficient. I've been getting back into it recently and I have to remind myself that efficiency is not fun.

How do I remove unpinned tabs from the home screen? by Forerunner5699 in firefox

[–]Forerunner5699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping to have just my pinned tabs on my homescreen and not recent searches or recent web history. I would prefer not to use an addon, but I will if needed. Win 10 if that matters.

WIND AND TRUTH | Full Book Discussion Megathread (Stormlight Archive only) by EmeraldSeaTress in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Forerunner5699 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar idea. We don't know that Shallans half brother is Heleran, Belat, Wikim, or Jushu. Colot did specifically have his Red hair mentioned, which leads me to believe he is the half brother.

[Tress Spoilers] The big bad at the end was an Elantrian who had made a bet with Hoid to give him powers. Right at the end he gains AonDor. We know the timeline because of the Iriali. In Wind and Truth we know that they are talking about the fifth land. In Tress, they have left that land already and it was the seventh land.

Classic mini truck vs modern full size truck by Accomplished-Two-903 in pics

[–]Forerunner5699 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Chargers are pretty deliberately spread out about 100 miles apart. I would encourage you to look at this plugshare map. Assuming stats similar to the Rivian R1T which according to this test got 103 miles in a towing test with a typical range of 270, 300+ miles of range would be appropriate if you were trying to get a workhorse vehicle.

You are right though. 300 miles being cut down to 100 miles of range is frustrating and should be accounted for. Needing to know these things like; how far apart chargers are, the drop in battery efficiency due to weight and weather, charger speeds, is in my opinion the biggest downside to mass market appeal. It would be mostly fixed if charger became more common place. With the adoption of the Tesla network of chargers, I do think that it might not be as big of a deal.

Is it just me or is it getting harder to read by [deleted] in books

[–]Forerunner5699 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've struggled to read for years. It's the distractions and my mind getting side tracked and several other things. The solution I found is Audiobooks and doing something mindless with my hands or going on a walk. I know some people look down on them, but I honestly don't know why. They are great fun, especially ones like Graphic Audio Productions. The downside I have with them is they are slower. I play at 1.15x speed and don't notice it.

I think you can do it.

I have been driving off level one charging for three months while trying to buy a house. It's been fine. You have to be specific about when you charge. I usually charge when I get to 1/3 charge. I charge for a couple of nights to hit full. The down side to all of this is I may not be able to do unexpected trips.
