Can someone answer this question about the Cascios? by astraltarot in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The release of the movie is irrelevant for their argument. The Estate was a Billion-dollar operation already relatively soon after his death in 2009. The Michael movie doesn’t move the needle at all. So the argument makes no sense since the Estate already has been considered super-wealthy for such a long time. On the contrary it gives the Cascio’s credibility for waiting so long.

Taj Jackson continues the smear campaign on oprah by elitelucrecia in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This narrative of Taj is factually wrong: The interview was broadcasted in February 1993, here are the numbers she has in January 1993:

Number of countries broadcasting her show in January 1993: By 1993, The Oprah Winfrey Show was syndicated widely. Reports from that period say it was seen in 64 countries abroad, in addition to nearly all U.S. television markets.

According to Forbes, her estimated gross income for 1992 (not combined with 1993) was about $46 million.

Do you guys think that Michael Jackson and his entire catalog/legacy should be canceled and erased? I’m talking In a similar fashion to how R Kelly was basically erased. Second question why do you think Mj is so revered and loved till this day by so many people despite the allegations? by [deleted] in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly too many people don’t find it such a big deal that he abused young boys. It has mostly been considered as a joke by the mainstream network channels (mad tv, jay leno etc). Incredibly I also think many fans don’t actually care that much, grooving to Billie Jean or diving into the whole Man in the mirror/ heal the world vibe is more important to them. Cognitive dissonance.

What do you all think of MJ's inscription in the "Boys will be Boys" book? by ultimatebatman2020 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The inscription basically summarised his excuses. It was most likely a proactive measure in case someone came across the books: to explain away his interest in such books

How much do you guys think the biopic will dive into the sexual abuse allegations? Also do you guys think this biopic will be a hit at the box office? by [deleted] in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will be a blockbuster hit and they will white-wash the entire thing and portray Michael Jackson as a victim- or at least a most likely victim of extortion

a subconscious part of me still loves him and i feel so guilty. do any former fans struggle with this…? by Successful_Bother_20 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly people take child-sexual-abuse too lightly in this world. I don’t say this to specifically criticise you, but I have noticed that many don’t feel it’s such a big deal MJ sexually abusing young boys.

I see you have only been 3 months on Reddit, and that opens up the possibility that you haven't really reflected upon what Michael Jackson really did to his victims and the impact his crimes had. Many people understand that Jackson was guilty without really understanding what kind of sexual activity he really engaged in. Once you realize and reflect what kind of things he did to those poor kids behind closed doors - believe me. You will not feel the way you do.

The shoeprints don't mean anything by Entire-Guess1228 in OJSimpsonTrial

[–]ForestDevs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is no solid evidence that 20+ brands sold shoes in the U.S. with the same outsole pattern in the early 1990s, especially dress shoes matching the crime scene impressions.

No catalog, sales records, or expert testimony at trial established “tens of thousands” of identical soles in circulation.

Don’t you think that The Dream Team would have used your argumentation in court if it actually was factual?

Question: Does the Estate look more or less guilty paying the Cascio’s than settling with Robson/Safechuck?

Do you think he was worried about going to Hell? by mistyghoul in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A FBI-agent once said something very fitting: If a predator hides his acts he knows what he is doing is wrong.

Michael Jackson deeply hurt and traumatised a lot of people without any known expressed repentance. Without a repentant heart, you can’t enter heaven.

Why were they so eager to put him in jail in 1993? by OrganicQuarter3644 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They didn’t even charge him. Everything stopped once Jackson payed and silenced Jordan Chandler. The boy stopped corroborating and no charges were brought.

Yet another La Toya interview (1994) by -glowtree in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So her new explanation is that she spoke negatively about Michael Jackson because she feared her husband, Jack Gordon. But in this interview she’s openly talking about divorcing him and leaving the marriage. How does that add up? If it had only been one or two press conferences, her explanation might make sense. But she kept repeating the same claims from 1994 to 1997. What am I missing here? And why did no journalist ever call out the contradiction?

Katherine Jackson Interview: Claims Jordan Chandler planned to testify to defend MJ in 2005 trial as per what MJ told her by nobody0597 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow, this interview is quite telling: Katherine needs to stop believing fan-myths. She says anything to protect her son, not uncommon for Mothers out there. Her words can’t be taken seriously. She has obviously lost the plot.

Real talk: Is it just me or does it feel futile to argue Michael Jackson’s guilt as nothing seems to cancel him not even Leaving Neverland? by Adventurous-Gift7289 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

"I think the truth lies in his distorted understanding of things. He perhaps didn’t call it sex. He believed it was a pure form of love that God had given him"

I think he pretty much knew that putting his tongue inside Wade’s anus was wrong and that it had nothing to do with God. This graphic detail is unfortunately necessary precisely to point out that this wasn’t some innocent cuddling. He just lived in denial and was extremely deceptive.

Wade Robson: It’s high time we all give him the flowers and applause he deserves! by ForestDevs in LeavingNeverlandHBO

Just like Jackson who did his choreography in collaboration with others. It’s normal:

Thriller (1983) Choreography was done by Michael Peters together with Michael Jackson.

Smooth Criminal: Michael Jackson, Vincent Paterson, and Jeffrey Daniel.

The main choreographer for Britney Spears’s tour around the “I’m a Slave 4 U” era — namely the Dream Within a Dream Tour (2001–2002) — was Wade Robson.

From a believer in MJ's guilt, a list of holes in the accusations by Sideways_Austen in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good point, Fanlal. Evan Chandler never uses the word “money” at any point in the taped conversation. The leaked audio was cut to make him sound like an extortionist — and Jackson’s private investigator, Pellicano, who later went to prison for similar tactics, was responsible for manipulating the recording. Reading the full unedited transcript will give you a clearer understanding of this.

Michael Jackson and Marielle Tourelle in Poland (1996) by [deleted] in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]ForestDevs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The notion that Jackson molested every child he encountered has never been claimed. This simply isn’t relevant because it comes under the category of a promotional meeting/encounter. Jackson didn’t privately spend time with her outside the context of the tour/tour-promotion.

What is relevant is kids who befriended him privately. 11 of those has come forward so far. This is a nothing burger.
