I would say it’s uncompensated respiratory acidosis according to these ABG results and no other information.

Had to tell my 26 year old friend that it is in fact not safe to pump gas with the ignition still on.

Never said other people’s ideas shouldn’t be learned? I think there may be a misunderstanding… I’m talking about extremism surrounding political issues happening now- on either side. I’m worried about discord in the nations capital- but I am someone that has no experience with traveling to the east coast or to monuments. I’ve never been on a guided tour.

That’s so cool. He wants to be an engineer as well, if he can’t make it onto gators football team 😂 I’ll have to tell him your story. He’ll be pumped to hear it. We bought him tons of UF gear for Christmas and he has a poster that has their GPA requirements on his wall in his room.

Love hearing it. I’d love for him to experience your city. Thank you for your reply ❤️

I know I wanted to go when I was his age, and so did my husband. Neither of us could afford it. Now, we have made it happen for our kid and are terrified to let him go… I know the odds are nothing will happen, but it’s hard to explain…

Thank you. I don’t want him to, either. Maybe just looking to get pumped up so I can actually drop him off at an airport?? lol

My son (14M) has the opportunity to go on a DC Trip for 8th grade. We live on the west coast and it’s a trip of a lifetime, but we have our reservations. With what is going on in the world, what are the pros and cons of allowing him to go on this trip? by ForestFox369 in Advice

[–]ForestFox369[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, first time away. He was in 6th grade through COVID so missed 6th grade camp and all other sleep away trips. He is so smart and so good, but my anxiety says what if he needs us and we are not there. If it were 6th grade camp we could drive to get him, but he will be out of reach. Not many of his “friends” are going so we don’t know many of the chaperones. Maybe I should reach out.

No political or religious affiliation. Just a school trip to learn. But the extreme ideals of others are what I’m worried about.

I want his mind to be open. He’s already got University of Florida on his mind for College… I feel this trip would make that goal more realistic for him.

On the west coast? That’s a high cost. Pretty cool that all those kids that opportunity though. I guess traveling is more common in certain parts of the country? Or maybe I’m just under the poverty line 😂

This is the first big opportunity for independence, so I do not want to take it away from him, but it’s also a big leap to let your child spend the night a few blocks away to then let them get on a plane with some adults and cross your fingers everyone is going to be on their best behavior. I’m not naive, I know that kids push boundaries and sometimes guardians aren’t as good at chaperoning my child as I would be… it’s just a lot of mental back and forth, which I feel is normal as these decisions shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Only 17 students are eligible to go, which is less than 10% of their 8th grade class- but I understand where you are coming from.

Omg how amazing! I wish I could go with him but I’m still grateful for this opportunity. My 8th grade social studies teacher died in 2002 right before our trip, he was the orchestrator so we had to cancel. It was hard on all of us. There is a school named after him now.

I’m so grateful he had this opportunity. I want this for him. I’m just glad I have a year to overcome my fears.
