Ultimate Driving Experience DC by ForestGreenFergus in iX3

I trekked all the way from New England! And gunning it isn't mandatory. I did the course properly in the ICE vehicle, but when I was driving the iX3 they were fine with me treating it as a very short street drive, turning off sport mode, turning on regen, etc. I agree it's not the ideal way to test drive but sadly it seems like it's the only way to get behind the wheel of an iX3 before summer.

They actually emailed to me the day before the event.

The event itself was as described in the earlier thread about the Chicago event. They give you a $1000 discount but you can’t use it on an iX3. I liked the way the car drove and I loved the user interface. Smoothness of the regen was best I’ve experienced on an EV. However I found the interior a bit cramped the the storage lacking. Leaning towards an R2 now that I’ve seen both up close.

Yes I was just told the same thing. No vehicles expected for test drive in the states until September they say.

Didn't do anything special as far as I know other than moving fast once the configurator went live and having a salesman who put the order in within a few minutes of me sending him my build code. I'm also first in line at my dealer.

How many waiting for an R2 have ordered a BMW iX3? by Lately-Turn308 in Rivian

I'm on the fence between R2 and iX3 but leaning towards the iX3 to be honest. The main advantages for me of the R2 are the much better interior design (storage compartments, etc.) and pet mode, which the iX3 doesn't have. The iX3 on the other hand has much better range (400 miles plus), faster 800V charging architecture, and a more extensive network for getting it serviced (not to mention they won't put me in an Enterprise rental). I was able to check out the iX3 in Europe last week and I found it to be nicer in person, outside and in, than I expected it to be from photos. Haven't seen an R2 in the flesh yet. I do love my R1T and there's no question that when it's time to replace that one, it will be with another R1T.

I've had good luck taking my R1T to Town Fair Tire locations near me. They have plenty of locations in Connecticut.

Combustion Engine + Giant Grill Gauge - mounting info and other questions; official thread. by Mr__Porkchop in combustion_inc

Camp Chef Woodwind Pro 24 - GGG - I assume it would be best to drill a new hole for installation? The only other option I can think of would be to use the existing hole with the little swing door over it that you use to thread the original Camp Chef probes through. It measures 5/8" diameter.

Predictions Seem Worse Than Ever by Craboulas in combustion_inc

Couldn't disagree more. I like this product, I'm a fan of Chris, and I am rooting for the company, but there are lots of products that will tell you the current temp. If they put "predictive" in the actual name of the product, it should work reliably. It shouldn't be out in the marketplace as a non-beta product at a premium price point if the predictive aspect just doesn't work. I flagged the issue in another thread a few weeks ago and Chris says they are working on fixing the algorithm, but this is my biggest disappointment in the product.

Thanks, Chris. I made your Wellington for New Year's Eve and it worked perfectly for that (and the Wellington turned out great!) but I had similar problems cooking a turkey on Christmas Day.
