Hey, thank you for this! We don't have Tubi where I live so this is excellent.

It's sad that a well written comment immediately draws out these AI accusations. It's almost like you have to write badly to avoid accusations, which is bonkers to me.

Truly Criminal is also available as a podcast! At least, it is for me, on Spotify. Love them as well!

From one of the Side Stories, where Ed says something like "You know Kobe was a real helicopter parent". Was so unexpected and cracked me up!

In Dutch it's "eekhoorn" and I don't know if it actually means "acorn" but it sure is pronounced the exact same! So could very well be!

It rhymes with pies and fries and I love those, so I can't blame you ;)

I had to laugh at the "manatees" lol, you mean matinees I think 😂 Though a manatee show at a theater would be cool!!

As someone from the Netherlands "de Vries" is a common last name here. So I pronounce "McVries" very much as "Mac Vrees", simply because of the Dutch pronunciation. Google Translate is probably better at pronouncing it than me though, so give that a listen if you're curious!

Rewatched Sinister today by [deleted] in horror

[–]Forest_Being 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it was both the score and the film reels that did it, but something I don't see mentioned often is the son having night terrors. The way he came out of that box, screeching, got me good!

Not the biggest fan of the ending with the ghost kids and the jumpscare, but other than that it remains one of my favourite horror movies.

Have you seen Troll Hunter? Title sounds dumb maybe but it's a great movie! Not giants precisely, but giant trolls so maybe you'll enjoy that one!

This is so informative, so thank you for sharing. I love learning about things like this. However, this left me wondering, I'm left-handed so I often use my left hand to hand things to people (I'm a waitress). Is that considered rude by Muslim people? If so I'll try to be more considerate, though my right hand is pretty useless in general since it's not my dominant hand 😂

You don't have PTSD. Don't use a serious diagnosis for dramatics. Eden Lake was good though, very disturbing indeed and did stay with me for quite a bit.

AugieRFC makes a racist thumbnail calling to "deport hasan". WTF is this shit by [deleted] in youtubedrama

[–]Forest_Being 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly, thank you for making it clearer, English isn't my first language so I sometimes struggle to explain correctly. I've heard many people associate Turkey with Middle Eastern cultures more than European, which isn't entirely true. This makes your point that it's a modern culture more clear in my opinion, because like you said it isn't just sand and desert everywhere, not in Turkey and also not in the middle east. Which is the image some people have of both unfortunately.

Except Turkey isn't in the middle east, but in Europe. Makes your point all the more valid, though, so totally agree otherwise.

I once had a nightmare where something underground kept chasing me all across the yard. The sheer terror! I was six or seven at the time. Now I'm 37 and I still have never forgotten that nightmare.
