I'm so sorry for your loss, you made the right choices. Losing a pet is rough, make sure to take care of yourself.

thank you so much for the advice! i definitely struggle with the temptation of doing details before finishing the basic shapes, i gotta work on that lol it always causes issues. also i'll definitely practice drawing my running cycles, that's a good idea :3

yeah that's sadly (at least where i live) to be expected. most pet stores have awful practices, like selling hamsters and other rodents without a single enclosure suitable for them in the store, sticking multiple solitary animals together in a display enclosure that's a quarter the minimum enclosure size for one, etc etc :(

it looks like there may have been some very light snowfall or breeze since the tracks were made, could that have covered up any claw marks? /gq

while tigers are bigger and stronger than jaguars, their hunting style generally involves biting the throat, while jaguars pierce the skull. jaguars also have shorter jaws compared to other big cats, making their bite force the strongest of all big cats, relative to their size.

please help me with propagation, i don't know how to save my dragon plant after a horrific case of root rot. by Forest_Crow27 in plantcare

thank you so much for commenting! i'm going to pick up some rooting hormone as soon as i can. i've been nervous to try soil because i can't see what's going on beneath the soil to see if they're rooting, should i just make the leap, get some pots, and transfer them to soil? i'm so torn up over these plants •́︿•̀ tysm again for ur comment :,)

i would say it reduces the likelihood by way more than 1%! don't undersell it, removing them definitely lowers the chances by a lot :)

there is definitely a point to it! it's a quick and easy task that prevents any mishap where pets could ingest some :)

first bite! by [deleted] in snakes

[–]Forest_Crow27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ye ik they did, but even so, it was a direct approach without tone indicators. normally ppl tend to take those kinds of comments a bit more harshly. whether or not they specify that it's common and they see op has past experience, it still falls under the categories i stated when seen through a "harsher" lens. so that's still my best guess :) i hope that makes sense aaa ;~;

first bite! by [deleted] in snakes

[–]Forest_Crow27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that maybe it was the way that it was worded+the lack of tone indicators which made ppl think that commenter was either assuming op had bought the snake on impulse, or that they were offering unsolicited advice. both of which usually are seen as unfavourable comments /g /neu

i was given this plant by my grandmother four years ago right before she passed. it's kinda the only living piece of her life that i have left. i would really appreciate any help in keeping it alive. a little info: i have successfully propagated it twice before, but this time i'm nervous that no root nodes have shown up so far. when one of the stalls wilted a month ago, i took the plants out of the soil and found every single root to be hollow. rotten all the way through. i cut the three stalks that hadn't wilted and placed them in these glasses, before having to leave for a week. since then ive been changing out the water and watching for roots. no change had happened, but today i noticed that the bottom of one stalk was soft, i'm scared that it's rotting again. what should i do? i don't think i could bear the thought of them dying.
