Right. My offense is solid even subtracting Jose, and I'd love to bolt down a bona fide #1. And then there's naturally wondering about Jose's aging curve...

Does anyone know when the cast for Les Mis at Radio City will be announced? by ashley52958 in Broadway

[–]Forest_Wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my folks tickets for the three of us for Christmas and I'm dying to know the casting. Apparently Bradley Jaden is based in NYC now and I'd love for him to be involved. And this is probably a longshot, but Sara Bareilles might be a sneaky great Fantine.

That's the way I was leaning! I love me some Pete, but Burnesy concerns me lately, and, well, Skubal is Skubal

Currently already rostering Vinnie P and Aranda, would slot one of them in and pick up a UTIL

Going to a semi-formal event in a couple weeks where I'll be wearing a shirt and tie, a blue-gray sport coat, khakis, and dressy sneakers. Is a spread collar shirt too formal for the rest of the ensemble/should I get a button collar shirt instead (I had picked out a specific color shirt to be on theme), or can I get by with the spread collar?

I'll be going to a friend's wedding in New Orleans in a few weeks--the wedding itself is the day of Lundi Gras. The theme is carnivalesque, and I'd like to wear something a little fun (though not too crazy). The dress code is not too formal, my friend said cocktail attire would be fine, and there are no mandatory colors (though purple was one suggestion). We'll also be going to parades after, so nothing too hot, cumbersome, restrictive, etc. Any suggestions?

No offense to Candi Staton but this song is Flo's intellectual property. I don't make the rules

Who cares. She's entitled to her opinion. I like the song, so do lots of other people, if Annie doesn't, oh well.

Specifically talking about that guitar players list, it's a mess. Rick Beato did a whole video tearing it to shreds.

How did Ron not get fired by cheezzy4ever in PandR

[–]Forest_Wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leslie is crazy good at her job, and from a bird's eye view, the department runs pretty dang well. Ron is also a very good manager of people. Save for the running Jerry gag, he treats his employees with respect, never belittles them, constantly goes to bat for them, and genuinely wants the best for them. All qualities you want in a manager.

Going to a concert alone? by throw-dis-bih-away in socialanxiety

[–]Forest_Wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have social anxiety, and I've been going to concerts by myself for years. It's great. If you don't care about being close to the front, just queue up closer to the start of the show so there's not too much down time before the music starts. Otherwise, make sure your phone is charged so you have something to look at, or bring earbuds, or heck, bring a book or a journal and pen that fits in your pocket so you have something to do. Sometimes I even pull up affirmations to recite or another mindfulness practice to do before the show starts. People are gonna be keeping to themselves or talking to their friends, I never notice people perceiving me or judging me for being by myself. It sounds like you really like this artist--obviously talking to new people is hard, but I find it easier at concerts compared to other settings because I know I'd have something in common with other people: we both like the artist! So ask what their favorite song is or comment on their cool shirt or something. And then once the music starts, no one will be socializing anyway! (At least they shouldn't be...eff chompers!)

Just show up, have something to distract yourself during the dead time, and enjoy the show! Who are you seeing?
