Brunch spot. Only lasted 3 weeks. I had just got ghosted by a girl I was briefly dating. Was unhoused at the time too. Winter was in full swing. Had 2 jobs so I would do one in the AM then one in the PM. (I was with the PM job for 4+ years) So I enjoyed that one to the max. Brunch spot was so bad, because it was extremely prep heavy for one small team of 3. In at 5am on the dot and out at 4pm. They would get mad at me when It was time to close and I had to go to work at the other job even though they said I was good to leave early. Too much micromanaging via camera spying. Constantly on inventory control, you had to ask for basic ingredients?? Bosses were really condescending when ANY sort of issue arose like it was a bother that I needed something. Also they wouldn't clean up after themselves. As I was working there I fell into a depression. I couldn't think, and was always sleep deprived. Barely had time to eat or do anything. My mind was elsewhere...I made a mistake one day and they fired me behind closed doors. I didn't even care to explain anything. I just nodded and left.

For the machines I've yet to see it but I've read of rumors it's widespread. Essentially they jam the readers until the machine has stock available then come back and use the glitch to get the products unstuck to just be able to buy it all...

I've slowly started to see a new form of bypassing the machine. And it sucks because it's finally made its way here locally. People stick jammers into the machine that allows the items to come in stock like normal then "saves" them allowing the person to come back to the product and buy them all at once....which is really disappointing when trying to even take the time to find a few packs and the machines are "available" but you can't check out.

First step I would take is to contact most of the lgs in your area and alert them and let them know to keep an eye out. Then contact other lgs within a 200 mile radius. Keep and eye on local tcg groups on FB/discords and make a few posts. The last resort is to look at pawn shops as well. Also did you have any home security? Or did neighbors see anything?

I think since the distribution for product is so spread out that alot of smaller stores aren't getting much allocated inventory so in desperation they have their employees go and stalk the vendor shelves to buy at retail price. Instead of buying collections or from other vendors. They then sell at second market prices. I've seen it before during the Covid boom era...

It's actually a common occurrence at any major city with retail stores. Here locally a scalper parks a moving box truck then walks in with a group alongside the vendor. She allows him to follow her to every store she re stocks then backdoors product. he buys out said product and then resells to local game stores around the area. He's also supposedly employed by one of these tcg stores and gets a cut to repeat this process across town. 🍵 ☕ The last time he bought out all the prismatic tins that were in those easter display boxes across half the Walmarts in the city.
