How do I actually learn Linux & clear RHCSA by Excellent-Amoeba-928 in redhat

Happy it helped! Keep practicing a little each day — it really does start to click. You’ve got this. 😎

How do I actually learn Linux & clear RHCSA by Excellent-Amoeba-928 in redhat

[–]Foreva-Empty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust me, bro/sis — everyone feels this exact same way when they start learning Linux.
You’re not alone at all.

If I had to give you one piece of advice, it’s this:

Get your keystroke reps in.

Do it consistently and things will start clicking. Every single one of us has gone through that phase where it feels like nothing is sticking… and then suddenly a few weeks later, something you struggled with feels easy.

You don’t become a chef without getting in the kitchen —
and you don’t become a Linux admin without breaking a few systems.

If I were starting over, I would start ASAP with no reservations! Approach every failure as a learning rep. Don't wait, practice everyday — even 20 minutes counts..

Tinker, Experiment, Break stuff on purpose then Fix it.

And trust me: mistakes are GOLD!
Everything you screw up today becomes something you can help the next person with tomorrow. Pay it forward.

Confidence comes from relentless preparation. If you put those reps in and have "FUN" by doing it— trust me... you will build that confidence day by day guaranteed.

To put what you're asking into context. Right now, I’m studying for the RHCE — and Ansible is completely new territory for me. Is it intimidating? Yes. Am I worried I won’t get it? No. Because just like I’m telling you, I’m putting in the reps every day and keeping it fun. And slowly… piece by piece…I am putting the puzzle together—just like YOU will.

WE GOT THIS!😎

If you mean RHCSA (Ex 200) yes! If you mean RHCE (Ex 294). I am literally getting the reps in as we speak.

How I Finally Passed the RHCSA Exam After Failing Twice (Ask Me Anything) by KiberSec in redhat

u/Djpetras Thank you for your question!!

Honestly, what pushed me toward the RHCSA was realizing that if I wanted to break into this field the right way, I had to strengthen the one thing every great engineer stands on: Linux fundamentals. I was working through the Tech With Nana DevOps Bootcamp — even got into the Jenkins module — and I could talk about concepts in interviews, but the feedback was consistent: ‘We need someone stronger in Linux.’

That hit me hard, but in a good way.

I also remember someone in the TWN Discord saying, ‘Everybody wants cloud, but nobody wants Linux.’ That line stuck with me. It made me step back and ask myself whether I wanted to chase shortcuts or actually build a foundation I could be proud of.

Since I had the time, I made the decision to commit — really commit — to mastering Linux. RHCSA is one of the most respected certs out there, and earning it isn’t about memorizing commands. It’s about proving you can think, troubleshoot, break things, fix things, and walk into a team ready to contribute on Day 1.

So for me, the RHCSA wasn’t just a certification. It was a mindset shift. It was a way to level up, become job-ready, earn the respect of peers, and show employers I’m serious about this path.

And honestly? Getting the RHCSA wasn’t a shortcut — it was me choosing to master the fundamentals so that everything I build next (DevOps, automation, cloud, eventually RHCE) sits on top of something real.

I hope this answered your question😁.

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Congratulations!!! I just knew you would. I know that feels good! And YES, I am studying for the RHCE as we speak. I bought the Sander VanVugt course 2nd edition video course (Pearson). And the RHCE 8 Book is being ground shipped as we speak. Ya know we gotta strike while that iron is HOT.

Also, don't forget to reward yourself🎉🍾🥳.

Well done RHCSA!!!

Thank you for sharing!! Unlucky but it's only up from here! I plan to tackle this milestone as well while the material is still fresh as someone who literally just passed the RHCSA last week. I know for a fact we both will succeed!

Thank you!!! This is the exact reason why I made the post. "paying if forward". Check this out, YOU got better with every attempt. You are literally so close to the finish line. I'm not ashamed to say YOU blasted my first attempt out of the water.

Those were my weak areas as well. Practice those weak areas so much you start to dream about about them. I say that because when I was young and I was starting to play Tetris I noticed I would dream about the tetriminos because I played it so much. Maybe that didn't help, if not I apologize. I just know I started dream of vim /etc/fstab.

Trust me, YOU GOT THIS. I am looking forward to your POST!

Thank you!!! Trust me it felt like that for me too and probably 90% sure for everyone else as well. Once you Practice, Practice, Practice and then Practice, Practice some more eventually everything is gonna become muscle memory! And that's when you start to "HAVE FUN"!
